  1. I had bought CW134076C Vehicle Rear View Camera in March 2008. I don't think that model is available anymore, but I have had ZERO trouble with that camera in my daily driver. They guy who owns the company (Long Yu) was great to work with. Found him on ebay, and asked him if he would match a lower price he had offered a few weeks prior on a different auction for the same camera. He said no problem. Really nice guy. My install is reposted starting with post #39 HERE (in case you're interested) - The camera details are near the bottom part of post #40.
  2. any camera with an RCA out will do. I bought one from Yan Labs (Now Rocky Americas). Here's there website http://www.rockyamericas.com/usa/hotDeals.html with some choices. Depends on how great you need the picture to be as to how much you'll have to spend, but the Pioneer versions are definitely more expensive.
  3. I don't remember by Z2 harness pins being so small, but that was a year and a half ago. One piece of advice I can give to others before you go getting frustrated with the size of the pins and the tiny holes in the harness. 1. Lift the "plate" on the bottom of the harness connector that runs perpendicular to all the wires (hold it there by stuffing a sewing pin in one of the holes (in line with the wires) 2. using needlenose pliers (to avoid getting bloody), push the eye end a small sewing needle into the slot just below the pin till it seats 3. If the sewing needle is the ri
  4. just unboxed mine - and it does have the threaded hole (8mm max depth for the screw).
  5. I am itching to buy the Z110BT, but would like to get some feedback from the early adopters that have pulled the trigger on this unit. Can someone please comment on your opinion of the unit in day-to-day use? Especially those that have upgraded from the Z2 or Z3? Are there any Z2/Z3 features you miss? How do you like the nav voice? What is annoying about the new unit that you wish Pioneer would change? Thanks for your time.
  6. very true - forgot to mention that What I'm describing though goes beyond the manual. It requires you to pull your units hard drive and connect to a PC. Perfect for when you are upgrading with a new hard drive
  7. You can burn a cd and import pictures for your address book, or if you want, you can just add them directly as 128x96 pixel .jpg files to your hard drive in the Z3. The path on the LDATA partition is LDATA\POINT\IMAGE Add the files you want (I named them in keeping with the name structure already there) and then added to the DISPNAME file and it worked great. You just have to make sure to keep the exact same spacing after each name constant (it will only understand the DISPNAME notepad file if each line of text has a set number of characters, spaces included, before the carriage return).
  8. Attached is my BMW logo background (480x234). This is the actual BMP file I used to replace my CPYCUSTOM and CPYDEFAULT files. The logo itself is a bit foreshortened top-to-bottom so that on my screen it is a circle and not an elongated vertical ellipse. The black is RBG 10-10-10. Whenever I used 0-0-0 or anything less than 10-10-10 (such as 2-2-2) the screen would look great for about half the boot up, then all the black would turn a crappy grey. I played with the backgrounds forever to get this one right on my Z3 for kicks I also attached my phone ringer icon that I changed
  9. it'll get bypassed, just a matter of time....
  10. I just feel obligated to point out that your 3 referenced links are for CF (compact flash) cards, not SD (Secure Digital) cards. They are different. And it is true that Standard SD maxes out at 2GB. You need SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) to exceed 2GB. The United States Manual for the 900BT says it supports a max of 8GB SDHC (aka version 2.0)
  11. For some reason if I add pics to the drive while it's hooked up to the pc or the laptop, I get an error when I try to view them on the Avic. It tells me that the file is corrupt..?! weird - are your files ".BMP" files (in caps)? Are you saving in 8 bit BMP or higher? I can't remember what bit the OEM AVIC bitmaps are, but I'd say make sure it is the same when you add new ones.
  12. I have to agree that the 500x240 size background did NOT give me a round BMW roundel. I ended up distorting the roundel in photoshop to be shorter in height by about 5-10% before I found a version that looked round. I tried many different variations on height on the background too ranging from 234 to 280 (without adusting the width) with no change in the oval shape for some reason. Also, it looks like RBG black (0,0,0) is set as a transparent color for the splash screen. I had to make a background that was black, change the CPYCUSTOM.BMP and CPYDEFAULT.BMP files in the BG folder of the LSA
  13. My PC is an HP Pavilion and I think I read somewhere that HP's acted different during this process... Have fun with it! B-F agreed that the extra step you put in (typing mhdd to start the program at the first prompt) is needed - I had to do this on my Dell Once I got a full trial version of Acronis, it was no problem. I went through 2 downloads that didn't work from the Acronis website. The trials were not fully functional. I tried this on a Vista machine and I don't know if it was Vista or the Acronis Trial that was causing the problem. Got my music partition up to 29.9GB an
