There should be no reason for Pioneer to deny the rebate; my receipt makes no reference to a price match, and even if it did, that's not one of the stipulations of the rebate. Furthermore, I will challenge the charge with my credit card company. I already know that it'll be too late for ABT to take the unit back. At that point, the credit card company will refund my money AND tell me to keep the unit.

Or maybe, just maybe, someone somewhere got a good deal on a decent machine.

Right now, there's a $120.00 rebate from Pioneer, but if you buy it from Best Buy or Best Buy online it doesn't qualify. I just got a pricematch from ABT for 279.99, and since they are authorized to sell Pioneer, my final cost will be 159.99 LOL

I have a question; the guy says look what I got and proceeds to prove that he has the new unit. Who gives a shit if it's stolen or not? It's none of anyone's business unless it was stolen from YOU. For all we know, many people here could be typing on stolen computers. You gonna question that too? It's really irritating that people here damn near chase people away with the nasty, snarky responses. I came back to see what the talk was, and I see it hasn't changed much.

I'm not going to do the mod, but just have to say thanks to shortfuse for doing what he did. It allows interesting things to be done with the hardware that many of the manufacturers themselves never thought about. Just goes to show that there are some really intelligent people out there. The guy who typed that review was a complete jackass. He didn't know how to use the unit and even when people came to tell him how the unit does the things that he said it did not, it was clear he had never owned the unit. We even pointed to videos of the unit doing things he said it does not do and he still bitched that it "doesn't do it".

I'm mrbluesteele on youtube. My radio displays title of song and the artist's name. Also, I know that some people had compalined about the am/fm being disabled when the HD tuner is hooked up. I don't have that problem per se. The fm/am is disabled, but HD takes over and nearly every station here in Chicago has an HD counterpart or 2. Those that don't, revert to analog. I haven't paid attention to whether or not the analog stations transmit RDS, but on every HD station it does, and you can choose between what kind of text it displays if more info is available. I'll post a video tomorrow.

Google checkout informed me that it had been shipped the same day. I called RVFP yesterday to get tracking info.
