  1. This just happened to me for the first time a couple days ago.... it was on XM for a few minutes then *poof* there it is on 'IPOD'..... my wife is the primary driver, so it may have happened a few other times before. I have a 160gb Ipod plugged in full time to the HU... its brand new and bought specifically for this purpose. The battery is fresh and fully charged, so its definitely not a battery problem, although I have had times where the Ipod just isnt recognized at all while driving, and I have had to unplug the unit, and even had to reboot the unit to get it to recognize the ipod agai
  2. When I did the bypass mod, I kept the MUTE wire in place and just added an extra for the bypass. I then connected the MUTE to the wires provided in my harness adaptor for my Chevy Express Conversion Van... I also have the SWI-ps and I am getting an irreversible MUTE signal whenever the radio gets hot on long drives. I am wondering if this has to do with the harness interface, (GMOS) or the SWIPS, or the something else to do with the HU itself. Anyone know if the MUTE wire needs to be connected to use the SWIPS Mute function? If not, then I will start my problemsolving by disconnecting that

Looking forward to your Update on this VBLUE.... Hopefully another video on it too once you get it up and running!
  4. I have my z110 installed in a 2009 Chevy Conversion van with SWIPS and bypass done with MUTE line intact I have this annoying problem that only occurs on long trips: When running with the heat on 'feet' or on split to "vent/feet" for 45 minutes or more, the MUTE engages all by itself and I can not disengage it with any buttons on the steering wheel or with the buttons on the HU..... Turning off the heat or turning it down so that its blowing cold air seem to correct this after several minutes, but its hard to run for long periods of time in North Dakota/Minnesota without heat. Anyone h

  6. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=27827 This is technically correct, but doesnt really give you the whole picture... If you want the least amount of functionality from Sat radio and this HU, then the SCC1 will provide this... if you to have the "Instant Replay" function on your Sirius, then what you need is a SCVDOC1 and a Starmate/Sportster 4 or 5. Caution: The Sirius addons will only give you ONE LINE of data, whereas the XM unit will give you THREE LINES of data in addition to channel logos and category logos.... the only thing XM doesnt do that the Sirius DOES do is give you is the INS

    Sirius

If you already have a Sirius Plug-n-play radio, then the Sirius Connect SCvDOC-1 is what you need instead of buying a new tuner such as the SCC1. The only advantage of Sirius vs XM is that you can do Instant Replay with Sirius. However, what you give up is 3 lines of data (only one with Sirius) and *no Data* on the Presets. You have to memorize whats where on presets with the Sirius whereas the XM will give you 3 lines of data, Station names on your presets, and station image-logos on all stations and categories. I currently have both installed so that my wife and I can see which one work
  8. the only time Ive seen the unit automatically jump source to Ipod is when I connected the ipod while the unit was on.... it went from being in an "No ipod connected" state to an "Ipod Connected".... so my thought was that if the ipod battery is dead, then everytime it completely loses charge while the car is off it will make the unit think there is no ipod connected....so when the car is turned on and the ipod gets juice, its like it is getting reconnected which automatically switches the source to ipod. Hopefully i am wrong and all you need is a reboot of your ipod
  9. MSN is refunding nearly all of your subscription fee for lifetime membership and still giving you free access until its shutdown, so it doesnt really matter what you pay for it. Now, chances are good that they will NOT be so generous if you just continue to pay for the yearly fees.
  10. Is it possible the battery in the Ipod is is going dead, and this only happens when the ipod battery is fully drained such as when its been a longer time interval between starts?
  11. My understanding is that the ND-MDT10 is getting hard to find.... might want to grab one fast if you know of one available.
  12. I did a self-install on my 09 Chevy conversion van recently... I had the same problem with the PAC SWIPS instructions regarding the harness. The installer that I bought it from had access to a website (http://www.directed.com/) that told me the location of the harness, but it had the wrong harness color listed. The PAC instructions are correct about the harness you need to interface. I dont know about the rotary knob you are referring to, but if that is how you do the volume, then you might want to skip the SWIPS and consider a different wired remote that takes the place of the steeringw
  13. +1 Cheers to 6605! I got all $99.95 back that I paid according to the account rep. Softens the fact that I HATE knowing this thing will have obsolete features in 2 years.
  14. They charge tax? Is that because you are in the same state or do they charge everyone tax? According to the website, they only charge tax if youre in PA, NJ, or NY.
  15. THe rebate is from Pioneer, not from 6ave, so I would think you should still be eligible. 6ave is an AUthorized Pioneer Dealer, so you should be golden. BTW, I got mine on Sept 9 for 1150 w/ no chance at rebate from 6ave... you are doing GREAT even without a rebate
  16. I had read on the forums here dedicated to other units that the Sirius Bus CD-SB10 had an issue where it will spontaneously stop working and that the only correction is to remove power resulting in some making the connection from the YELLOW(constant) to the RED(ACC) power line on the CDSB10. I can now confirm that this ALSO has occurred with me on the Z110bt... I have not yet changed over the powerlines, but a simple remove-and-replug of the power interface on the CDSB10 does reset the unit and make it work again. Glad I planned ahead and put the CDSB10 in an easily accessible place under
  17. They seem to answer those emails after 5pm... at least that has been when Ive received them. Let us know what they offer you!
  18. I forgot to add above... you'll also need a dashkit to make the radio fit. I *think* its the Metra 95-3305, unless you have a Silverado "Classic" model.... once again, a local install shop can confirm for you which install kit you need. It will run you around $20 or so as well.
  19. I am not the one to ask about MSN.... i live about 10-20 miles north of its reception range, and bought it for when I travel to the Twin Cities several times per year. I dont think its even received an activation signal yet... Do a search here and youll find several threads on it, and it appears that most who have it enjoy it, although that some have said its traffic updates are more temperamental than the XM Traffic on other units. Its updates are directly on the Map from what I understand. But, I would defer more details about that to those who have used it... Good luck with your in
  20. I just did the install on my 09 Chevy 1500 Conversion van, so yours it probably similar... For your GMOS-LAN harness, you can go here: http://www.crutchfield.com/app/product/ ... gmos&ssi=0 Type in your truck info, and it will tell you which one you need. For your FM antenna, you will need an adaptor... the guys at my local stereo shop knew i needed it and sold it to me for $20 or so. I cant remeber the name of it, but you can probably just call a local shop or even Best Buy if they do installs and get it. For your XM ant. you should be able to use the same antenna, bu
  21. I spent an hour or so reading through the winauto online guide last night since this thread piqued my interest... it appears that to REALLY hack this thing you need a full development environment. WIthout having the multiple components needed to do this, you would have to find someway to get the code out of one of the units and then plug it into a dev environ... but still, that appears to need multiple components based on the configuration of the chipsets, memory, etc... The good news is that alot of the skins are written in simple XML according to the winauto dev pages.... so once we fig
  22. Sorry to hear youre unhappy w/ it.....What unit are you getting to replace it?
  23. VBLUE42, from your vids it appears that you are using a steeringwheel control for your VR button... if this is the case, what interface are you using, since it obviously is not a PAC product?
  24. Alot of us got it for $1150 via the 'name your price' 6AVE.COM deal last month, which is still the best i could find from an authorized dealer... its going on again now... if you get the gex-p920xm with it, let me know what they offer....best i could get them to this time was $82
  25. Great for new buyers! Pisser for me since I bought my Z110 in September Might want to consider an offer to 6ave.com on the MSN... I got mine for a good price via that (No, I dont work for 6ave.com) They are certified Pioneer dealers BTW.
