  1. I think something from 16 to 20 AWG should be fine. If you plan on using the internal amplifiers inside the headunit then I would lean towards the larger wire (ie smaller AWG).
  2. The ideal scenario is that you tie the bypass grounds (mute and parking break) to the same location as the headunit ground. You don't want to have any potential (ie voltage) difference between them, although i do believe there is some tolerance allowed before it would become an issue. Now it is up to you whether you use the vehicle's factory ground at the metra harness, or use a bolt to the frame. If you are going to use a seperate amp to power your speakers, you most definetly want to use a bolt on the frame. The factory headunit ground that goes through your metra harness can b
  3. Large discounts often do indicate retail unloading an excess of inventory, however the 30% off pioneer products from amazon applies to alot of pioneer items, not just the upgrade. Now the 1 to 2 months expected ship date might indicate the opposite. Seems to me that Amazon has to wait for a new shipment of product from Pioneer to come in. Perhaps the delay is do to Pioneer readying upgrades with the new firmware included.
  4. Thank you Mr Dirt! You are the master ... Its going to be tough waiting the 2 months for this update to come. I think I am most excited to do the firmware update to 2.003 after I run this upgrade to the Z120BT software.
  5. It seems to me that apple got on the same page as the rest of the world with iOS4, in that they now transmit contact information as last name first, first name second over bluetooth. The Z110BT/Z120BT does not appear to parse and order the information, and it simply displays the name in the order it receives it. Once work around I can think of is to edit all of your contacts, and put the first name and last name into the first name (or last name) category. For the iPhone, I wonder if this could be done with windows contacts, outlook, or google contacts, and then sync the changes to the p
  6. I am not having any problems. I have not tried to upgrade yet. I am asking if the upgrade process affects the msn tuner subscription. Does the msn tuner need reactivated? Has anyone who has gotten nearly all of their money back on the msn tuner lifetime subscription, ran into any problems when upgrading to the Z120BT? Just crossing the t's and dotting the i's before I upgrade. Thanks.
  7. When you upgrade the Z110BT to the Z120BT, do you have to re-register the MSN tuner? Has anyone had any trouble, when doing the upgrade, with an MSN tuner lifetime subscription in which they got "nearly a full refund"?
  8. The Pioneer ND-BC20PA camera has sparked my interest. Does anyone have this camera installed? It seems that it is an ND-BC2 camera with an additional video DSP unit. The DSP can adjust the image to correct any offset that result from mounting the camera off-center from the vehicle. It also removes the wide-angle 'fisheye' aspect of the camera, which allows the option of a birdseye 2-D view without distortion. I don't think it's night performance is any different than the ND-BC2. For improved night sensitivity check out the pioneer ND-BC4. The DSP features aren't a necessity; I
  9. I just got my confirmation number on my refund -> $129.12. Outstanding job 6605Stang. 2yrs of service for $0.83, plus the $79.99 for the ND-MDT10. I can't say I'm happy, but I feel better than I did 20 minutes ago.
  10. My problem is with a card I bought from Best Buy's website, not one from 6605stang. He actually ran out to his local Best Buy to get the cards, so there will be no issue with those.
  11. I went to the local best buy with my un-activated card that I bought online. They could not get the card to activate, buy they refunded my money and I then bought another card. The card I bought from the best buy store activated fine, and I have registered its code with no problems. Just wanted to clear up my problem so that no one else worries about if these lifetime cards still work or not.
  12. Well my prepaid lifetime subscription card did not work. The front of the card states "The card has no value until activated at register". This is where I think my problem lies, I ordered it online and do not think it was registered correctly. I called the best buy 800 number as instructed in my email, gave the Indian woman the 24 digit activation code, and she said a manager will call me in a few days. Days ... ugh. 6605stang, you bought your cards at your local best buy, correct? Do you remember them 'activating' the cards at the register?
  13. I just got a long drawn out email from Best Buy that my MSN Direct One-Time Prepaid Navigation Service Subscription Card may not have been activated properly. If it doesn't work properly I can call some number or return it to Best Buy for a full refund. So these cards may not work anymore. Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and I will post what I find.
  14. I don't think the lack of VR is a SWI-PS issue, but more of a lack of support from Pioneer. If they would accept a VR command via the steering wheel controls input, then the SWI-PS would then support it. If this is indeed the case, then no steering wheel controls adapter will support the VR command. BTW if you are reaching for the VR button on the headunit to use the voice 'mute' command, just hold the VR button in for few seconds and the Z110bt will mute.
  15. I think the code will work, but you have to get ahold of one of these cards before they are gone. I noticed that MSN direct has the $50 per year for all of their devices, not just the Pioneer one. Glad I got my order in, it is currently in Maumee OH and will be delivered on the 21st!
