  1. I feel a bit like Kramer, you know falling backwards into money . I'll stop talking about it now, don't want to jinx it...
  2. Unbelievable, I checked Pioneer's website for a rebate before buying mine two weeks ago and there was nothing then. Of course I did get a Z110BT AND an X910BT for a total of $500 (the Z was $500 and the X was gratis). They really screwed up (I won't say who). Of course I would really like a $200 rebate still. After selling the X I figure it would bring my price down to +$200 (ie getting paid $200 for NAV).
  3. Too bad there is not a shortcut to get to the map mode settings... There is one on the X910!??
  4. I found a possible solution to this, though I agree they should have included this in the app: 1. In Itunes I selected sync with Google Contacts and then all my contacts were synced into my gmail account (once I logged in). 2. Went to my gmail account and opened a contact with an address and it had a google map link, click on that and then you can send the result it to Pioneer just like you looked it up manually (dunno why Google maps doesn't save "send to Pioneer" as my default). Of course if this could all be scripted for all your contacts it would be nice... At least it's less t

    MKV GTI?

I just put a Z110 in my 2009 Jetta Sportwagen. You can use the PAC stuff to do the phone button or go Connects2 (as I did) which doesn't give you the phone button but it gives you all the other buttons as stock and makes the OK button a change source button which comes in handy more often. Also the Connects2 is about 1/2 the price and is about 1/4 of the size of the PAC parts you would need:
  6. I miss some of the "shortcuts" that my Z1 had, like being able to hit the map button to change map views. I noticed that the X910 gives you a view mode button on screen. WTF? You'd think the Z would have that...
  7. The one bonus to having HD is when you switch between sources there are less to switch between. On my car one of the steering wheel buttons will change sources (with the wiring kit I got) and having multiple FM's and AM to go through is annoying ( I disconnected my HD to see what the FM presets were like). I have XM and Iphone which I am usually using...
  8. I noticed that the track arrows will change the presets only with HD, not XM... Still very annoying that I paid $100 for supposedly better technology (HD) and the experience is worse than with FM. I disconnected the HD receiver and verified that: 1. FM and AM are now options in the AV source screen despite what the Pioneer doofus told me the other day (he said that my antenna to the Z was bad). 2. The presets give full information and the RDS info even scrolls across the preset that you have selected. I might pull out the HD and see if Crutchfield will take it back. They have a fai
  9. I think I would have to use the PAC stuff to change it. The Connects2 does change track when you push and seek when you hold the up/down buttons. I had a Z1 in another vehicle and with the PAC stuff setup that way it would do what the Z110 is doing, ie tune up/down.
  10. Just installed Z110 in my 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen. I used the Connect2 harness to connect to the CAN bus and retain steering wheel buttons. I had read on a VW forum that it retains the functionality exactly as stock, except adding the OK button becomes change source (which it does and that's nice). The problem is that the up/down arrows on the right changed the presets with the stock HU and now they are doing tune up/down. On the VW forum someone said it is a Pioneer issue. I am doubtful. I had actually bought all of the PAC stuff to use and may end up using it if I can't resolve this ot
  11. I called Pioneer about the HD preset BS and the tech said "that's the way all Pioneer devices are with external tuners". I responded what about XM? I asked about the greyed out FM and he said "your antenna is not hooked up or the splitter is bad" but it is. I think he doesn't know his own device (or his cheat sheet doesn't). It sounds like from your post and others that this is normal with HD. You do get FM and AM when you have HD selected so I guess it is there. I meant to ask them if I really needed the antenna splitter and I am guessing probably not with HD, no point going to th
  12. I just did the bypass and I think it would be a little easier for those of us who don't do this stuff all the time to have a few close up pics... (of course the pins and slots are so small I bet this is new to alot of us). I used a standard staple to release the pin once I had the bar pulled up. I was trying to push the staple in from the rear instead of the microslot in the front under the pin, until I looked close enough to see the slot... Need a pair of magnifying glasses to work on it... Oh and you have to poke the side where you can see an opening in the first pic to release the

    Best price??

Sounds like a plan. I have heard about things like this before happening to others. Can't believe UPS and the shipper had an $1100 item sitting out for anyone to walk away with (my side gate is just inside my driveway, and my driveway abuts to my neighbors driveway). To think I was a little PO'd when I thought it was just my Dynamat order sitting out in the open and had gotten a little rain on. Everything was dry inside. I guess I'll do the waiting game. Maybe this makes up for basically giving away my Z1 in my 05 Mustang GT convertible I sold earlier this year. The buyers didn't even

    Best price??

How about buy a Z110 and get an X910 for free . Let's just say somebody goofed big time. They said the X910 was backordered, eta at least a month so I canceled that order and the Z is on the way. The X showed up today left at my gate by UPS with signature release. What to do......

    Best price??

I was trying to find a Z110 to look at before forking out the money and I checked out Car Spa in Arlington, VA. They are selling the Z110 installed with a 3 year warranty for $1600 ($100 more if you have steering wheel controls you want to keep). That seems like a really good price and they were very nice to talk to today (Randy and another guy who I am guessing is the owner). They have several vehicles with the Z110 and other versions of Pioneer NAV's installed for display (unfortunately they were not there when I went there), but from their description of the Z I was sold (though I a
