  1. So, I bit the bullet and ordered the map upgrades etc, and followed the instructions to the letter and the tuner is crashing every 2-5 seconds "system restart due to tuner error, contact your service provider" or to that effect. When the 'tuner' part came up, it was easy to assume it is the fm/am or even the xm, but the msn never made sense. topic answered
  2. How about the number of times it tells me to get off the freeway, turn right, make a legal u-turn and turn righ back on to the freeway. On a route I take daily.
  3. http://astore.amazon.com/cnsd-110fm-20 I built that little page, maybe it is of use for those that do not want to pay the $200 retail price at Pioneer. RUMOR has it you lose the iPod wheel interface??????
  4. The Audi nav without any touch screen is actually a kenwood????
  5. I love XM on mine, paid $77 for a year of service, made a cross country journey pleasurable.
  6. I have not had any issues with it. I used to commute everyday Pasadena to Costa Mesa and back.
  7. The unit has been in the car since December of last year. It is a BMW 7-series, yes there where mounting depth issues but the unit has been run continuously for close to 20 hours a few timesback to back on a cross country trip. The first time it happened this week I was 20 minutes in to my commute, the second almost half an hour, third time about 5 minutes on a lunch run. Everytime it was in the morning.
  8. So three times this week, early in to my commute, the unit's screen has frozen. First time I could hold down the one button and get the screen color settings, and see the volume control appear on the screen, but the screen was showing FM, but I was on iPod. Second, third, times when the screen locked up, all the steering wheel function buttons like skip, volume and source work, but the screen remained unresponsive, the iPod stopped working and the XM station tuning was lagging. Press the button, 3-4 seconds later, the station changed. This sounds to me like software, not hardware. Ster
  9. I get that too, I have a phone book that showed up in its entirety when I got the phone. Phone broke, I replaced it, I authorized to the H/U again and it only displayes about 17 of the 200 entries now.
  10. Even though Pioneer does not make a kit, these will work fine: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i68_tv-tuners.html
  11. I am thinking I'd rather pay $1500 for a new Alpine, Kenwood or someone else than to put more money in to this buggy headunit. That is just how I roll.
  12. sweet, that would make life easier for me. I like the hotspot functionality of the phone, because I am already streaming pandora to the car via Sprint's 4g.
  13. Feeds, no, I am curious about bluetooth, using phone-based contacts, etc... I am no fan of Feeds.
  14. At the end of the week, the new Evo 4g comes out, and I was cusrious if the Droid O/S works like that of the iPhone, ie: contacts coming up, one touch dialing from a stored POI...
  15. This is what I am doing: I have the Sprint 3g/4g Overdrive mobile hotspot in the car, I stream Pandora, etc to the touch in my car and it works nicely. I was on a drive CA>TX>LA>GA>TX>CA and believe me, this thing was great, in addition to the XM radio. There are a few things that it does not do, like contacts or addresses stored on the touch showing up in the HU as an option as with the iPhone.
