Hey, I know this thread has died off but if anyone is reading this can you help with this small question. I just received the official CNSD-250FM SD upgrade cards as a gift and I'm trying to figure out if I need this or not. Basically, I'm not sure whats actually in it. It does say v16.2 Whereis and 'upgraded navigation features'. The latter im interested in. Does anyone know if this has the 4.0 firmware? Also, if its the latest SD update, how come it only comes with V16.2 maps? I have R17 maps on mine (what is the diff between R and V anyway?) already so it seems a little strange.

Hi, I just received a CNSD-250FM as a gift and I'm really not sure I need this. I havn't really been looking into upgrades and such for some time as I've been content with my 3.02 firmware and mods etc. So, I'm trying to find out if its worth me keeping this and was wondering if anyone knows if it has an upgraded firmware or just new maps? I have an F500BT with the NDG500 amp, and I'm wondering is there any way that this unit would increase fuel consumption? I tried searching but couldn't find any results. Someone made a passing remark to me that had me curious. Regards Mike

Thanx! Regarding the last line .."assuming you have an OZ version Avic" ... If I buy the legit v3 from Pioneer Aus, Will SUNA work then? Given I do have the Euro F500BT, but if I buy the Aus v3 , wouldn't my unit be effectively the same? The only thing i can think of , changing the device line back to the EU model number...would that disallow SUNA to work? Regards Mike

Hi 34by151 Im just wondering how can I verify if I have SUNA working correctly? Just to summarise - Im in Melbourne - Euro F500BT with 2.07 firmware and all your 2.0/2.0a/SUNA updates installed and 15.1 maps. Working fine. - In traffic menu, I see the blue signal that goes up and down and it says "TMC present", but I have yet to actually see any reports... it always says 'no traffic updates'. I havnt used the unit for long yet, so perhaps I havn't encountered any situations? Another quick thing, I noticed I have 2 DATA.zip files, one inside the APL2

Thanks, but sourcing the UK one might be difficult. I did find a US one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-Pioneer-Map- ... 1718wt_940 Which is roughly a 90 dollar saving from locally... however as you stated , wrong region. Regarding sys.txt what i did was just alter the device line in the SD card on my laptop , then put SD card in avic unit and copy to flashdisk, etc? Thanks:)

Hi, I saw the unofficial update in a couple of places on the forum, however in one of the threads, for the EU 3.00 , they started to mention after a page that it is only an 80% upgrade for the F500 model, and in the other thread (main one on hacks/mods page), no one could confirm whether it would work with the f500 , with one of the reasons being that the button sequence code cannot be performed on the F500 due to lack of an eject button. A couple people appeared to have problems with that. So im not quite sure where to find a confirmed F500 compatible version. Thanks Mike

I just installed the update and map for v2....worked great! Thanx so much! ... Is it ok that its installed on 2.007 (from EU site) , rather than the aussie 2.0 ? So far so good but just want to double check. Thanks again!

Thanks ! I found the EW device number. Its all starting to come together now. Re: the firmware, I rang pioneer and a retailer and it is sold only as a bundle (maps + v3) for approx $200, correct? That is a little steep, perhaps i will stick with v2 mods.

Hi I recently received an EU unit and I have i wish to convert it to the Australia maps. I have read the full australia hack thread and all, but as a general question i am unsure of ... I have version 1 firmware and I will first update to v2 . Do i have to download v2 from the EU pioneer site , or am i advised to download v2 from the pioneer Australia website? In both cases the maps I will add will be from the instructions in the australia map hack thread, but I cant seem to find the answer about the actual country specific firmware before i add the maps. Hi 34by151 when you said "Alter the decives section of sys.txt to your model version" , I was wondering what is the model version of the European F500BT ? I wasn't sure if theres a difference in Eu F500BT and EU F900B Also , my desire is to convert my EU F500BT to aus. At the moment I have version 1 firmware. Im a little confused right now. Can i download the v2 firmware from the aus pioneer site , or do i have to download it from the EU site since my unit is EU (and then later upload the aus maps) ?? Many thanks, Mike

Hi, I recently bought an F5000BT off ebay and everything appears to be intact, ie cables sealed and plastic still on unit screen... ie it appears brand new as it was described. However I noticed there is no SD card to be found. Isn't the unit meant to come with one? Appreciate the help. Regards Mike

Thank you 34by151! I realised my mistake after my post. I did read this thread and searched the forums (Its hard sometimes to take it all in at first!) I read that people were unhappy with the lag time when pushing buttons and also the volume of the bluetooth (which doesnt concern me). Does the v3 firmware ,If I download it from your link here, significantly improve the lag time when buttons are pushed? Also knowing what you know after owning the unit for some time, would you recommend it or shall I wait a bit and try to get a deal on something like the F10BT? Keep in

Hi, Im new here and have been doing some research and have a quick question... thought I just post here because alot of aussies, but its for anyone. I can get the f900BT from pioneer as a refurbished unit, with 12 month warranty at half the normal price, which I want to do. Im assuming it will come with v 2? Once I download the v3 from the pioneer site, is there anything that I really need to upgrade with this unit, keeping in mind its already aus spec? Has most of the basic issues been fixed with v3? Also i dont use iphone/bluetooth at all. Mainly want it for gps, usb con
