  1. Hi all, Just resurrecting an old project / gimmick I am working on. My goal is to integrate the phone into the car for all my needs like internet, music, maps, car monitoring, road monitoring, etc.. Content is at my blog to have a central sport for comments or questions: http://jonnazario.bl...arpc-setup.html
  2. Johnny Depp, I bet there's an app for that. Imagine.., there is a pothole detector app.. so maybe I can create "CrashAid". But really I understand your concern, similar to having pandora integrated on the unit, etc.. Distraction == No NO! The trick is how we make the car for intelligent and robust with minimal interaction? That's hard. In my case the reason I want to integrate the phone to the car is not entertainment. I already have that with the existing setup. One of my feature goals is to be able to access and control my car monitoring without having to take out the other com
  3. I came across that lately, but I haven't check how they are doing it.
  4. Just sharing my latest project. I got Android running through the avic Z100bt using HDMI to VGA converter. If you were thinking about doing it, here is a preview of it. Things needed: AVIC with video input Motorola Atrix rooted to access the WebTop through HDMI TODO: settings to control X11 resolution
  5. Quick note for updating the first post... - Please change the term update package for "firmware update" and explain that is the cracked file. After that you can perform the "system/client" update CSND-210FM. - Also copy the link to the firmware download next to that reference. Is confusing the first time. thanks
  6. Reference links to instructions above (in case the main gets updated): Upgrade process http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/29198-step-by-step-update-from-z110bt-to-z120bt/ Download CNSD-210FM http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32362-z110bt-usa-upgrade-with-csnd-210fm-2011/ http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/32362-z110bt-usa-upgrade-with-csnd-210fm-2011/page__st__105__p__238040#entry238040
  7. I have an Atrix and Z110bt. This phone doesn't work in "mass storage" mode. These are the two options I plan trying: - For mass storage mode, I want to check if is a media folder issue. Probably the media needs to be in a specific folder path... - Use HDMI-to-RCA converter and use it in some kind of TV-Out mode.
  8. Sorry, I grew up out of flame wars. I prefer hard facts with all candidates compared.... And there is no vendor who offers PandoraLink for Android.. So probably someone ~developed this "service" for iPhone to communicate Pandora App signals and sold it. Vendor probably implemented the interface and made a GUI for it. Not sure as I have not seen the code.
  9. Lol! who knows.. maybe the problem is the iPhone and the crappy Objective-C which can't even close an application correctly... yeah! "Multi-tasking done right!".. B.S. Also, it doesn't have to be "real" emulation like my update post. It can be research and create an open source application which handles the communication appropriately.
  10. Any developers around? How hard will it be to make the PandoraLink - Android equivalent? I wish I had some more time in my hands.. but this will be what I would do.... 1) Get a jailbreak iPhone.. 2) Hopefully in Cydia there is a tool to monitor device communication.. - find the open port for PandoraLink - track device communication for the actions 3) Create an Android app which makes USB connection and emulates the communication. Really is not as easy as it sound because requires work. Is sad we don't have this, because is what holding me from converting out of iPhone UPD
  11. Anyone has experience with update CNSD-110FM for Z110BT and Pandora Link? Does Pandora Link is iPhone only? 3G, 3GS, 4.. any diff experience? Please comment... I will probably jump on this and report back.
  12. Two things.. 1) My setup uses the iPhone cable when streaming sound to the unit normally (high quality). BUT I think when I did this, the audio stream went through BT streaming (which depends the profile use for streaming)... 2) To answer your question a little more directly, the sound output quality doesn't depends in 3G or not... The sound output to the HU is based on the BT profile being used... in my case I think both streams where sent through the "Phone" profile and not the "A2DP" profile. What will be interesting to test is if I can quickly switch or keep Pandora through th
  13. I didn't see this posted... but with iOS4 and multi-tasking, I can talk while listening to Pandora in the background. The quality is not the best, but something... Personally is a big plus even quality is not the best. To do this, just start your phone call and then move to the Pandora app and hit PLAY. Hope you enjoy!
