  1. Quarky, did you get the single Parrot mic installed and if so, is the quality any better than the Pioneer mic?
  2. Gotta love internet forums....easy to be a jerk behind a keyboard and monitor. Anyway, my question was and still is the same. "WHICH MIC ARE PEOPLE PURCHASING THAT WORKS BETTER THAN THE PIONEER MIC?" People say "I purchased a dual boom mic from Parrot." WHICH one?
  3. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=parrot+dual+boom+mic CaptainInsane, thanks for the smart reply. I've already Googled it and perhaps I'm dense, but I'm still not sure which microphone people are talking about. How difficult is it for someone to post a link and say "This is the microphone I purchased?"
  4. Could somebody PLEASE post a link to the Parrot microphone they purchased? I've asked this like 3 times now!
  5. It might be helpful if people who are having problems, posted what type of phone they are using, as well as the vehicle information. I have the same call quality problems as others here and am using an HTC Droid Eris. The factory stereo/mic in my Chrysler 300C had excellent sound quality and unfortunately has been the only regret I've had about installing the Pioneer Z110.
  6. Chinna, which Garmin microphone did you get? Can you give us the model# or a link to the one you purchased? Also, how does the Garmin work in your opinion?
  7. Tried your suggestion, but it didn't work. Unfortunately, it seems to be related to the phone I'm using as I tried a different phone and the sound quality improved. But I have to say, even with a different phone and the better sound quality, its still no where near the quality I had with my factory deck & factory mic. It's such a bummer too, because I really liked having BT in my car. Oh well, I guess I'm forced to go back to my Jawbone headset
  8. You sure the stereo is not waiting for a command. That was the mistake I made, coming from a factory stereo. I expected the radio to say something when I pressed the button, but instead it was waiting for me to say something.
  9. We'll that kind of confirms my theory, that the phone plays just as much a part in sound quality, as the location of the mic. Thanks.
  10. Can one of you guys post a link to the Parrot dual microphone that you are referring to? Thanks.
  11. Well I had another "duh" moment. Having not really used the VR much, I didn't realize the voice was waiting for me to talk. I thought it would ask me something, like "Say a command." Anyway, did the reset and it did at least cause the voice to sound better. Now, I'll have to reconnect my phone. Maybe the reception for my phone will have improved as well. Thanks to all. Couldn't have done the hack without the help here.
  12. TypeS, did you ever try the Garmin mic from Fry's? If so, how did it work and which model# did you try?
  13. I disconnected the red/white wire from the CAN-Bus adapter (C2R-CHY4) and it doesn't seem to have a negative impact. Parking brake is reading "on" in the Navigation settings. Took a quick drive around the neighborhood, but only got up to about 20 mph. Everything appears to be working after following the directions on this site. Will do a full test shortly after I have everything put back together. One strange issue I'm having now though, and I believe someone had a similar issue earlier in this thread, is I only hear half of what the VR voice is saying. For example, when I press the
  14. Duh! PB stands for "Parking brake" Found the answer on page 12 of the installation manual. Still curious what's going to happen with the CAN-bus red/white wire in the mix.
  15. Are you guys referring to, taking the yellow wire from the white harness and connecting it to the light green wire from the black harness? If so, in my case, the light green wire is already hooked up to the red/white wire from the CAN-Bus adapter (C2R-CHY4). According to the PAC documentation, the red/white wire is for "P.B. Output (-)." I don't know what "P.B." stands for. Here's a link to PAC's installation instructions if it helps make my question a little more clear. http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductData ... 060809.pdf Thanks.
  16. Thanks! On my way out to the car now!
  17. Is this the microphone people are referring to? http://www.frys.com/product/4865730?sit ... IN_RSLT_PG
  18. I have a Chrysler 300c, which is a very quiet car and the factory mic had no problems. The AVIC mic has been completely unusable. I tried moving the microphone yesterday from behind the rear view mirror, to the far left of the windshield. Sound quality didn't improve at all. I also tried putting black electrical tape around the outside of the mic. Didn't help either. So here are my questions. - Has anyone here used this microphone with an HTC Droid Eris with good results? - IF not, has anyone replaced the microphone and gotten better results? - If another mic gave you better
  19. I just read all 9 pages of this thread, and I didn't see anyone mention what functionality you lose when you move the mute wirer. Once the mute wire is relocated, does that mean the mute function will not work at all, like when an incoming call comes in, or when the navigation directions are being spoken? Or does it just mean that you can't mute with the touch of a button?
  20. Just a guess, but they probably don't show all the street names because of the extra processing power required.
  21. Anyone here have the Z110BT and a Chrysler 300c? If so, could you post a picture to see how it looks installed?
  22. CamelTowing, I don't want a drop off in sound quality, so even if I have to spend a little money to get something better than the Z110, it's worth it to me. Do you have a specific Parrot stand alone kit that you prefer?
  23. Stoveken, where do you typically mount the 110bt microphone for the best results?
  24. Is 6ave.com an authorized dealer? The way I understand it, in order to get the rebate you need to have purchased from an authorized dealer. I got Cartoys.com to agree to sell me the Z110Bt for $929 (before rebate). I haven't pulled the trigger yet though, because I'm concerned about a couple things with this unit. One being the bluetooth quality. I have a Chrysler 300 with a factory headunit and bluetooth, and in the one (only) test I did (from a noisy Car Toys environment), the factory sound quality was better. Could have been the noisy environment though.
  25. Do you think that it's more a phone issue, then the microphone?
