  1. I've run into a real strange problem lately and wonder if anyone has an idea what it could be... I usually have an iPod connected to my Z110BT, but plugged my new iPhone4S in last week in order to charge the battery on the phone while I was driving. At first, everything seemed fine. I was listening to music coming off the iPhone through the iPod connection on my head unit, but after awhile I noticed my HU power cycling. It would flash off for a split second, then reboot. When I plugged my iPod back in later, it shows the music that's supposed to be playing on the screen, but there is no a
  2. Ah, never mind. I finally got it. It was a derivative of a longer passcode that I use. It's all working now. Thanks and sorry for the false alarm.
  3. I'm hoping for a technical assist, here. I just installed a new sub and amp in my car and had to disconnect the battery. When I powered back up to test, my z110bt asked me for my passcode. I vaguely remember setting one when I first got it several months back, but after trying EVERY possible passcode I ever normally use, I still can't seem to hit the right one. The service centers are closed until Monday. If anyone knows how to get reset the unit, I will be happy to provide proof of my purchase. Please help if you can. I really don't want to have to wait until Monday to put my car back
  4. Here's a straight shot of the rear view cam in map mode. I'm using a Boyo frame cam. I forget which model number. But I'm very happy with it in day or night time use.
  5. I'm thinking that pic of the blue screen of death as shown above would be a great April Fools day start up screen if you have a friend with an Avic.
  6. I'm using an iPhone 3GS. There's just a lot of background noise and dropouts. Callers frequently ask me to repeat what I just said. I can hear them okay. I have echo cancellation ON. I'm really not sure what the problem is. But it's annoying. Especially when trying to use the VR for hands free control of audio selection and so forth.
  7. For the record, not having the street name detail annoys the hell out of me, too. It just looks... cheap. I have an old Navman portable GPS which isn't great to begin with and it has far more detail than this. I also have a three or four year old Eclipse 5495 with a better street level map display than this. I really hope Pioneer releases a fix for this. I'm sure there are other things about the nav that I will grow to love and appreciate, but this isn't one of them.
  8. I'm pretty sure that I have been, but I will pay special attention to this the next time I boot it up. Thank you! I noticed your posts about this in other threads. That's really a weird "bug" that this unit has, but good on you for figuring this out.
  9. Hey McGilles, JMc from the Corvette forum here (JMc was already taken here by someone else apparently). I agree, the map detail SUCKS as does the voice response on this thing! Majorly disappointed in those areas and also looking for a fix.
  10. For the benefit of future C5 owners looking for the answer, this is POSITIVELY NOT the VSS wire on a C5 Corvette. There is no VSS wire on the Bose harness connector, period. Any speed related volume control is handled by the data bus wiring in the harness. The VSS can be tapped in the instrument cluster harness behind the gauge pod and you have to pull the gauge cluster in order to get to it. PIA. I've opted to leave mine disconnected for now.
  11. I noticed this problem with my iPhone 3G, but only when placed in very close proximity to the HU. If I move it 6 inches or a foot away, the offending sound goes away.
  12. I just installed this unit in my Corvette C5 convertible. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing poor VR performance with this thing, but very disappointed that I am, nonetheless! I have the mic mounted in the corner where the windshield meets the A pillar. I'm hoping that the Garmin mic does the trick and look forward to seeing here if it does.
