  1. Worked PERFECT.. Gotta say, a lot of the mods here were wrong and a lot of fellow members were wrong including me.. I followed the steps and now I'm running the new software. I will say that Pioneer should feel ashamed charging its customers $200 for this software update, its not worth the $200 and thats a fact
  2. So my question to this is.. Does this mod work 100% If I do the crack exactly right, will it upgrade my z110bt to the z120bt w/ the upgraded maps? I have the torrent from a long time ago, right when it was uploaded.. I'm worried that if something jacks up, I'll be sitting on a $1300 paperweight. Thanks guys! I did look through the whole topic, but it seems as if theres a lot of bricks getting made and a lot of confusion.
  3. Well what Noxguy83 said is exactly what I had done.. It works perfect and no more hissing or crazy volume. For example.. when a phone call would come in, the sound would be so loud it would be unusable.. When I would dial out, the Dial Tone would be extremely loud. I've had it done now for over a month and it works great. The sound quality is great and there's no hissing or sound distortion from the volume being so high.. I honestly had the option to buy the $60 adapter, but I was so fed up with all the minor costs that I occurred during this installation, that I took my buddies advi
  4. It all depends on your car, I would do a google search for it, most are apart of the harness. I would be very careful, as if you attach the wrong wire, you may severely screw something up. All you're doing is splicing into the VSS wire in your car. My buddy used Caps, some people use electrical tape, it's all on how professional you want to do it. Once again, be careful on what you do.
  5. How off is your GPS? I have mine mounted in the back board of the car (Right under the rear window). Mine is off by just a bit, meaning, when I'm driving I'll see the road, look down at my GPS and I'll notice that its behind about 5-10 seconds. So I've already passed the road for about 5 seconds and the arrow is just now passing it on the screen. My guess is that its because its in the back of my car.. There is a setting in I believe Map Settings.. where you click "Modify current Location" It may be somewhere else, I would use that if you're WAY off.
  6. Wrong, Amazon does sell it. "In Stock. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." (http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVIC-Z110 ... 871&sr=8-1) So lets see.. If I were an online retailer and my buyer purchased units SOLD from the MFG (Pioneer) and I find out that my customers warranties are voided because they bought the device from my company, I would be furious, thus never purchasing again from Pioneer. I'm sure Pioneer isn't willing to throw away a relationship with amazon.com. My job as it stands now has literally spun off my position as a buyer for an extremely large retail company
  7. So basically, I bought mine from Amazon.. They aren't authorized, I'm screwed if something happens in the next 12 months? Thats nuts, pure insanity. I've bought thousands of electronics off of Amazon, some car items that I knew weren't authorized, but still the companies covered it under their 1 year mfg warranty. The product is BRAND NEW. Its not being sold used. The MFG Should stand behind their product and cover it. It's obvious that Pioneer sells them to these companies. What Pioneer is doing should be illegal. They are requiring that you must pay a higher price at an authorized dealer
  8. Wow I can't believe they won't repair/send you a new unit! Thats complete BS. I would call and speak to a supervisor. As long as you purchased it and its w/ in a year (W/ Proof of Receipt) , you should have a warranty.
  9. Thats really odd.. Mine charges fine.. I never have to worry about charging my itouch
  10. I know it had something to do with the Amp and he had to cut the RCA Cables.. Now my volume is normal. Vblue when you have your volume on lets say 7 is it really loud? Like you can't go past 14 w/ out blowing your speakers out?
  11. I have no idea to be honest. I was just watching. I thought maybe someone could better explain.. I'll call him tomorrow and have him email me an explanation so I can give you more information.
  12. Tell me about it buddy.. I had a good friend that knows his shit on car audio, but I didn't want him to install it in my car and jack something up and us lose a good friendship, so I went the installer route. Big mistake.. I ended up going to my buddy and he knew everything like the back of his hand and we had everything fixed, installed, etc in no time.
  13. Here's what I found out and my buddy fixed the problem. At volume 7 it sounded like it was on volume 30. I was getting all High Outputs and no Low (I guess thats how you word it). So what my buddy did was, take RCA cables and mod them to give me low and hi's.. You can also buy an adapter at Best Buy that costs $60, but doing the RCA Cable trick is the same thing. Basically.. The volume was WAAAAYYYYY To loud at 7... The trick he did made it so that I can gradually go up in volume and not have to max out at like 10. Does this make sense? I'm sorry, but I'm just trying my best to re
  14. Its best to get this cable anyways. I was going to try and hit the cheap route and not get it, but after much consideration, I bought it. Its always better to have everything you need, then to keep taking the whole dash apart and reinstalling things. Plus this will allow video, full on-dash control of your ipod and charging.. Well worth it imo, I just think the $50 price tag is a bit nuts.
  15. Can you tell us the reasons why you prefer Axxess over PAC? Axxess has a USB hook up that will allow you to program it any way you would like, but thats only if you want to. I drive a Honda Civic 2007 EX. It has 3 Buttons, Volume UP/Down, Track Up/Down and Mode. So I put it into Auto Detect Mode. It detected my Head Unit and my Car.. Automatically assigned the buttons to Volume Up/Down, Track Up/Down and Source (mode Button). The Axxess was so simple to install... I actually did this myself as I forget to have the installer do it. It took no time at all. The thing with Axxess is, its
