The D2 trim panel is about as useful as the the one that comes with the D3. It does have clips, but the D3 doesn't have anything for them to attach to. Back to the drawing board. I did file down the D3 trim, but to me it doesn't look professional.

Anyone know if a D2 trim ring will work on a D3 ? I used a cage for a D2 to install the D3 in my Jetta. From the picture on Pioneer's website it appears to have a type of clip to keep it in place. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CNS8298

Did you move the mute wire or just ground it where it was?

I'm going to look around locally, but I have read that the sleeve for the D2 will work. PM me your price and shipping.

I just recieved my D3 and realized it doesn't come with the mounting sleeve. I have a 2001 VW Jetta and have read in another post that I wouldn't need any thing other than what came with the D3. Is there something I'm missing or do I need the sleeve. If so where's the best place to get one.

There is a guy on Ebay who sells a video connection for your Ipod($50) that hooks up to the digital port on the bottom of the Ipod. It is a homemade setup, but is professionally done. It even has a way to tap into your power line to charge your Ipod while watching it. I got mine this week and it works great.
