I have never seen this. You are going to have to remove and inspect all the rear connections very closely as well as attempting the reset procedures. If nothing sticks out on the exterior surgery will be needed. With all the moving parts inside there is no telling what is wrong.

Sounds like a mismatch in gain between the head unit and amp. I cannot troubleshoot well unless I have the vehicle. Hook a portable or bookshelf speaker to one of the speaker outputs of the D3 If no static, the D3 is not the problem. If not using the OEM Bose interface converter then try it. Newer factory systems especially Bose are known for nonstandard wiring and definitly not plug and play. Just a shot in the dark... try turning all beep and NAV voices off. I notice a similar issue when the voice is on but all the way down. With beep and voice off the unit should have no reason interupt your music. This is just a S.W.A.G. so let me know if it works for you.
