I have a dnx7100 in one car, d3 in one car, n an n2 in another. There are some features that I like better in the pioneers but overall I would rather buy the kenwood again. Full ipod control (audio and video) on the kenwood including the classic. If ur looking for something similar to the D3 and in it's price range, I would look at the NEW kenwood dnx5120. Similar to the D3; u can change color, change start up image, no moving display, single slot dvd, but flash gps so no taking out ur nav dvd...seen it on ebay for around $700.

I've just installed a D3 in my sis's 4runner and an N2 in my express van. I didn't install the vss at first in the toyo so the map was at a weird angle. Did a little research here, opened her up and wired the vss. It was working better and now a week later, it's off again. How do I know if I installed the vss correctly? What is the Hardware Info for? All the speed, 3d caliberation, etc.? How long should it caliberate for? My N2 in my express van seems to be running fine at the moment. The speed is filling up, left/right turns slowly doing the same, but my 3d calib isn't moving, why?

I do have a brain but wanted to see if it to power up?

Quick question. I just bought and N2 unit but was missing the data cable. I wanted to know if I can install just the monitor and see if that works, is that possible or do I need a brain?

I dropped mine off that I recently bought (didn't know it was already bypassed). They shipped it back flex cable fixed in a week. No problems.

I've done my thorough research on both products. Both have their pros/cons and it's hard to go wrong with any HU. I'm not sure between these conflicting info. I've been told that you can play dvd/ipod off a second screen w/the DNX. Can the D3 play video ipod (since nav is already designated) on a second screen or even better, can it send nav to a second screen? Pioneer's site said it has a/v output but that's not what I've been told. Thanks if advance for your help.
