  1. I have a 2009 Audi TTS and using a harness call connects2 which allows me to keep steering wheel controls etc. I need the metra to work with the antenna in the Audi I am using the EU-55
  2. I have it going through the MSN Direct I get the feeling the Metra antenna adapter is either not set up correctly or defective.
  3. thanks for the review its appreciated. I do want to focus on one thing which continues to be disputed as a capability HD RADIO No complaints at all. HD stations sound great and regular AM/FM reception is very acceptable. I feel like I'm in the minority on this. You have the HD radio option and are also able to tune in AM/FM as well? I cannot seem to be able to do this and the HD stations I have range from really good or a lot of static. I however, cannot tune in regular am/fm stations. am I missing something, set up wrong or what. A few others chimed in and said that once you
  4. Paul Well after a lot of hunting I have found the adapter from Dietz 17005 which will do the trick for me now I just have to hunt one down from Germany somehow
  5. Anyone on these radio reception issues? Defective unit? Powered antenna (thought I had one already)
  6. Paul you have the Bose with audiopilot and using the connects2?
  7. ok back to the topic at hand I know now that when the HD radio is connected, I lose my FM/AM however, I now have another problem as I cannot get HD stations to tune in very well. They either have a LOT of static or some static and not the HD clarity I know is possible. I live in Florida and there are no hills and very little interference. My market has 31 channels and they all seem to exhibit the same problems I noticed in the display it says "analog" shouldnt it be digital? thanks
  8. paul did you get it installed?:
  9. quite frankly its misleading to me and I let them know when I called.
  10. I agree this is all very confusing and quite frankly MSN should honor the 12 month free. BUT when speaking to MSN they lead me to this page (screen shot) which clearly states.... 3 months with the Z110
  11. The OEM nav for my car can be purchased new for $1300 Of course the one I want (2010 which has been updated) is in very short supply so the dealers are trying to rape ($3700) before they become mainstream. I am still mulling this. My install guy is coming back Friday to fiddle and see what he can do. I think its going to take removing the stock speakers and investing in amps and new speakers. Something I am just not sure I want to do
  12. I am going to take stock this week. I need to see if I can get ahold of the OEM nav which I just sold like a dummy. So it will be a few days but I will pm those who are interested. Just note, if you are expecting bargain basement prices, I will have to disappoint you
  13. mine arrived quick so not to worry about ordering.
  14. I will throw one up later today.
  15. I have played with this for a week and simply cannot get this unit to sound good. I guess this is one of those situations where the car was designed with bose in mind and tuned for it as well. I know you are all going to tell me I am crazy but I am going back to the OEM nav. Will be placing a classified for the Z110, sirius tuner, msn direct, HD radio unit and ipod connector. UGH
  16. well bad news for Z110 owners I have had this faceplate for a few days and just decided to do a test fit. With your trim ring on, this faceplate WILL NOT fit. Its about a half inch to short length wise. With trim off, its very snug and almost difficult to get on or off. I supposes that not bad but I feel like I am going to break something if I try and force it. PLUS is means you have to keep taking off your trim ring. BUMMER
  17. ok dont take this the wrong way but why did you take it to the DEALERSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!! last place in the world I would take for a radio install. And then to have them send it out to a third party. Tell the dealership you want a complete refund and take it to a qualified car audio shop and have them do it right.
  18. still odd that on page 110 it states that in the absence of an HD signal that it reverts to the analog counterpart?
  19. agreed, page 110 seems to indicate it should flip over to analog (am/fm) in the absence of a digital channel. However, in my unit it is not doing that. Going to fiddle with settings and try again
  20. well the plot thickens I just spoke to someone at Pioneer in the car audio division and this is what they told me the HD tuner takes priority in when set up in the system and that if a station is HD, that is given priority. if the channel is fm/am only it reverts to that automatically. I called crutchfield (yes I know not always the best) and they concluded the same thing as the person from Pioneer. Now............while it sounds good in theory, it doesn't work that way though that I can see.
  21. I am really surprised because given the still limited number of HD channels in any given market. I certainly trust your study and appreciate the confirmation but wow I am just surprised it was designed this way.............. well out goes the HD tuner
  22. Not here to argue then but how did those people get theirs to work or are you telling me its an issue with the Z110?
  23. and another This adapter provided a clean solution for my DIY project to install an HD radio kit in my car. Most car audio head units (mine included) do not have the capability to deactivate the internal AM/FM tuner after installing a compatible HD radio kit. Installing a HD radio kit requires use of the vehicle antenna--the problem is there is one antenna connection and two tuners. This kit readily enables you to have both tuners working. There are several reasons why: (1) avoids the "dead" source on your head unit (static noise), (2) enables one to compare station and tuner quality (inte
