  1. I'm glad to see you finally got the region changed Ralpharn.

I'm also having some problems with my unit after updating to EU v4.0 from 2.0. I don't have TTS Romanian voice anymore, I noticed that the folder TTSData does not contain the data for romanian voice, so I added it from my 2.0 backup thinking it would be an easy fix, but still the voice does not show, any ideeas on this? I don't even know if there is an Eastern Europe region code. Anyway to find out from my old 2.0 backup?

I do not know, but you may try this method:

    1. choose language you do not need and it has TTS

    2. Put in the Sound and TTSData folder Romanian voice files.

    3. Prepare copy of Romanian voice files renamed to chosen language (see step 1.)

    4. Replace chosen language files with these renamed ones. So now you have 2 copies of Romanian language in the folder but one renamed.

    5. Select chosen language in settings menu.

    6. Try it...

I hope you do not need to change LOPEDATA.DAT and PP.DAT files... but may be I am wrong.

  2. I am an owner of an AU version AVIC-F40BT, which I believe is also known as AVIC-Z130BT outside of Australia.
AU version AVIC-F40BT- known as AVIC-Z140BT and it has so called "2012 maps".

Official navi is hopeless IMHO. Now couple of guys in Russia work for make stable hack for few programs, but main problem they have - it plays sounds only if you have mp3 playing. if it DVD, radio or you have it on OFF mode - there will be no sound from third party navi software. post-51370-0-04564600-1353973884_thumb.png Here is a picture of F930BT running 7ways software (with OSM -open source map) and bluetooth over the top- making call. And it has 6 satellites connected.

  3. I changed the AplLib.dll as per the version 4.001 offset 1AF94, to '38' which corresponded to 'X15AU0' what I guessed was an Australian F940BT. Well once I did that everything worked. Address search, traffic tuner, australian voice TTS :) So the unit is acting almost exactly like an AU unit instead of an EU now.
I did it to my unit and now it thinks it is .... European F940bt... %))

    I'll try "3A" then... ;)

Update: 3A leads to the same:

Language UK English (and hips of EU languages)

Voice: UK English (without TTS!) (and hips of EU languages)...

according to Pionara we have: 3 = 3,D,13,20,24,29,2D,34,38,3A (Australia)

    So I'll continue to try.

    Sorry Pionara... I'am idiot %)) I need to change 05 00 a0 e1 to 38 00 a0 e3

Success! Unit thinks it is in Australia now!

Voice: English Australia (TTS) Also I got school zone signs. %))

But User Interface: UK English -is it Ok?

  4. I had AplLib.dll modified for 3.000 and my unit pertended to be Australian and had EU settings for FM. So it is possible to do just software hack for region. Now I would like to give it a go for 4.010 but I stuck at installing hackmode... "There is no applicable program" error after hackmode instalation. Can we just replace files in software update? or use your supertestmode to replace 2 files? (Navi.exe and AplLib.dll)

  5. Dear Pionara,

Thank you for your guidance. Can you also upload Ndata folder from X940BT-ish (without maps) I have problem with voice prompts and I hope I can fix it by copy "sound" folder from US unit. Also "TTSData" need some tweaks. But after update my unit has Australian files in that folders, so I need US files.

Another funny error after update: "Fastfood nerby" link leads to search parking nerby... :D

  6. not sure what kind of business pioneer likes to run.

I wonder if the fact that they make it difficult to legally obtain map updates in some regions might drive users to the "unofficial" methods

Pioneer Australia is strange... prices for HUs are almost twice compare to US ones, no WR at all, no satelite radio here.- even update prices - US one- 120USD, AU- 200+USD. For map that almost 4 times smaler. And they look like you need to beg them to get update even if you have money... ugly...

So I can't wait when someone hack these units and I'll run normal IGO on it. As far as I know modified portspliter does exist, so only problem is integrating third party navi to existing shell.

According to the guy who made portspliter: navi.exe also draws lots of settings windows, so it is not a option just to replace navi.exe. It is question how to intercept official map window and keep the rest functionallity of navi.exe

  7. Have you all noticed that when you just start your car and HU is still boots- reverse picture is much higher quality and refresh rate is higher (direct commutation?), but after a few seconds it flickers and now on it is low quality and luggy- looks like it was heavily processed and we have this text above?... so it would be great if someone can figure it out how to prevent it to switch to this mode completely.
