  1. I had a similar problem with my z120 in my silverado. My Truck requires a GM interface to keep onstar and warnings and such. There are two small dials on that interface that can be adjusted with a small phillips screwdriver. One dial adjust the "warning chimes" (low fuel, door open, etc). The other dial adjusts volume level on external audio sources such as XM/Sirrius, Ipod. I am unfamiliar with the install on a Tundra but hopefully this helps.
  2. I Had it mount on the dash in my truck and it was horible. the avic had no idea where i was, even after "modifying my location". I relocated it on top of the cab and it works beautifully now. So i would definatly reccomend putting it outside!
  3. Ok, thanks. Since you seem pretty knowledgable in this area, i have 1 more question. Would it be possible to take a lead off of each side of the actual PB switch, add a diode and splce them together with the Green PB wire?
  4. I know you guys are probably bored to death with this topic, so I appologize in advance! lol. But, the Molex Part# 08-70-1040 Pin Connector, are they availabe at radioshack? I've got a Z120bt in an 03 silverado with Onstar (wich you dont need the mute wire for). I destroyed the the pin trying to get it out and am now in search of another pin without buying a new harness.
  5. thanks Jason, for some reason my illuminatin wire wasnt working. Luckily i was able to locate a working ill. wire off of the climate controls directly below the radio. a quick little splice and everything is working again.
  6. ok, so i just installed the z120bt in my silverado. so far everything appears to be working correctly. I gotta say that gmos interface saved me a lot of headaches (maybe). My question is on the nav screen. At night the screen is extremley bright, is it supposed to automaticaly dim with the headlights? also is the background supposed to look like night or is it always a blue sky? (3d). I have the setting to automaticly detect day and night, and i can adjust the brightness manualy. I hooked up the illumination wire, should i have connected the dimmer wire instead?
  7. Hi everyone! Just ordered an avic-z120bt, and by the looks of it im in way over my head! lol. Any tips for installing in 03 silverado would be helpful. I'm already looking into the video saftey bypass and custom backgrounds.
