You can put mp3's on it, but it has to be done through itunes. it is a pain at first, but after some getting used to it's not all that bad

some posts tell you to buy some audio tools for the setup, but you can go by ear. set everything you have to zero. ie no eq boost, put the gains on your amp(s) to the lowest setting, no bass boost on the amps. play the sound then turn the gains up until the sound starts to distort. turn the gains back slightly so there is no distortion. I have my sub amp set to 80htz and my type r's set to 100. then the gains i dialed accordingly using the method above.

If you don't know how you shouldn't try. it is a very tough procedure. (Ripping someone off and all)

no they don't, but your nav won't work unless you do the bypass. Why would you not want to hook it up properly?

Does it find the street and not the number you are looking for? Around here it doesn't find house numbers very well, but knows streets. If it finds the street just push the button that shows up beside the address. Even if it says address does not exsist it will take you to the street.

have you tried to reset the unit? Maybe it is just stuck on stupid or something. I've had a couple of issues with mine and find a reset is a good way to start when trying to fix problems

Just because it will play DL movies doesn't mean it will play DL mp3's. Try burning a disc full and find out.

The ipod interface isn't that bad. If you don't mind taking some extra time and making a bunch of playlists i find it works just fine. The screen is boring, but hey how about driving not playing with your ipod.

Just installed ipod adapter on d1. Dumb question i think. There looks like there is an option to setup macros for ext1, but i cannot add anything to them. Is this just the way it is?

With the Ps2 you need and inverter as well. The don't skip though. I had one in my old car. I bought a cheap dvd player for my d1. made by sp2. plays movies well doesn't skip.

There's really no difference between the 1 & 2. Once you get the new software for the 1 it's essentially a 2. As far as dvd video is concerned you can get a pioneer dvd changer or something along those lines.

You can't send them one at a time on the pearl. You can only do the whole phonebook. If you can't get the whole phonebook to transfer why don't you just enter them manually. With all the time you spent posting about it you could be done by now.
