  1. *Bump* It'd be nice to have a fixed image! I don't have the software or knowhow to fix it myself...
  2. Thoughts? What have you integrated it with?
  3. Your attitude is very unbecoming, but I'll try to keep things civil in explaining. Voice recognition is based upon meta deta, which is similar to the album art in terms of it being wrapped around the file itself in tags. The head unit can already read that information since it is displayed elsewhere, so it has to be explicitly ignored by the OS. To those who are not ignorant, there are endless reasons to whine about Apple. It's naive to believe that Apple has nothing to do with integration, even if indirectly, given their anti-competitive corporate behavior. Still, there's more than enoug
  4. I assume you are referring to application modes for the Z130BT locking you into an iPhone? I thought the head units still do not do voice activation or album art of music with non-Apple products (which is total bull, but it's what Apple will do as long as sheeple allow them to get away with it).
  5. They got rid of voice commands? It's not like the Z130 was all that good at recognizing voice commands anyway, but that seems like a big drop for what is supposed to be a flagship unit.
  6. I imagine the voice response is still sluggish, and Apple still has nerfed voice recognition and album art on on Apple products? Those are my main sources of strife with the prior model. Perhaps you have a bad head unit? I wouldn't think the fan control would differ much from previous models.
  7. You drag the map around in the direction you move your finger.
  8. Do these updates work for intermediate models? I'd like the update from a 130 to the 140. The voice recognition leaves much to be desired compared to my Android phone...
  9. Wow. That is an unbecoming attitude for a moderator. I feel welcome! Complacency with Apple's market tactics and products is what contributes to the saturated and lopsided market that exists today. I clearly have reasons for avoiding Apple, of which I listed a major one in my original post. If the answer is "no" to my question then I will be content with what I have. Besides, I would need multiple iPods to fully utilize my music collection, so it's not like it would make sense to buy a bunch of iPods even if I didn't care about the audio quality.
  10. I see mention of doing this, but how is it possible to splice an existing car microphone to the microphone wire of the Pioneer? I'd like to point to my installer and tell him it is possible if someone has advice or directions, etc. I have not encountered a problem with the Z130BT (I have to reset the pairing periodically but the quality is fine when I do), but it'd be nice to get rid of the extra microphone... My mic wire is routed around the passenger side head liner and clipped just above the rear view mirror.
  11. So, I abhor Apple and their inferior products, and thus do not own an iPod or iPhone. It also makes no sense to me to spend so much money on a head unit for good audio quality, only to degrade it notably by using the stupid analog signal iPod cable. Thus, simply getting an iPod is not an option. What I do not understand is why Pioneer does not have voice recognition with regards to music when using an SD card or thumb drive that isn't an Apple product, and why it will not display album art. Has someone written software or created a hack that gets around this ridiculous limitation? Ther
  12. Is there any way to make the voice recognition faster - particularly when trying to call someone? It always pauses for a few seconds before determining the name you said and it's quite annoying. I also noticed that some have said the VR startup routine has been adjusted, but I still have problems with it understanding what I'm saying when trying to call someone. I have the Z130BT, so are you all sure the software bug was removed? P.S. On a side note relating to other people's comments, for a head unit this expensive Pioneer should have put voice recognition for any USB or SD Card sou
  13. I really like those! However, when the backlight is the only light source (i.e. one is in shade while in the car), you can see that the black background on those images is not truly black, but varies in shade. Is there any way for you to "fix" that?
  14. I have the Z130BT. Has anyone had issues with the voice recognition on that? My main complaint is the system not understanding who I am trying to call. Asking for the nearest gas station, etc., works just fine. Also, people understand me clearly enough when I am on the phone with them, so I don't think it's the microphone.
  15. I don't know if you've bought anything yet, but do not buy Metra's dash kit for the Sonata. They have crappy workmanship and even worse customer support. They do not stand by their product despite the fact that it is clearly flawed (at best)! Instead of owning up to their mistakes, they blame Hyundai. Very lame. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?showtopic=63957&st=20 Edit: I see that you don't have the 2011 Sonata. You can ignore my comment other than to watch out for Metra customer service lies.
