  1. Here's one I did a while back: http://www.avic411.com/gallery/displayi ... m=31&pos=1
  2. Those are great! Here are mine: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18489
  3. One more background and a shot of KITT's voice in action.
  4. Just made these for my car and thought I'd share.
  5. By "all the red" do you mean everything--the speed, KITTs voice module, and all of the buttons?
  6. Here it is in my car. I increased the MPH to 167; it just seemed more "authentic" than 150. I turned off two of the status lights on each of the buttons on the left as well as the Auto Cruise and Normal Cruise to make it look like the car is in Pursuit mode, and finally I added my horsepower under the speedometer.
  7. Here it is in my car. The Destination Time is the day my lease expires, the Present Time is the day the car was built, and the Last Time Departed is the day the Mustang was introduced at the 1964 World's Fair.
  8. I actually have an "auto roof"--one touch and my convertible top lowers. I wish I could tie the AVIC to that function! I also wish KITT's voice meter would change with the audio navigation directions.
  9. Just finished this. I have the theme song on my iPod. I know it seems like the buttons on the left are off, but it's formatted to work as an A/V Background with the iPod/Radio button in the upper left and the song info at the bottom.
  10. I did upgrade my iTunes to the latest version. I did a lot of research on what iTunes calls "Protected AAC Audio Files" and found that iTunes' security was my primary issue. When the security was removed from the files, they played with no problems.
  11. I resolved the issue by downloading WMAConvert ($14.90). It took a few hours to convert all of the files, but it retained the title and artist info, the sound is great, and they all work on my AVIC-D3.
  12. I found the problem, and it makes me mad. I had planned to burn all of my songs to CD and import them as MP3s. Before I did this, I exported my song list to a text file. I realized that the songs I can play are AAC files--these are the ones that I ripped from my own CDs. The ones I can't play on my AVIC-D3 via my iPod are Protected AAC files--ones I bought on iTunes. Apple doesn't allow me to play the songs I purchased on my iPod when it's connected to certain non-Apple players. Nazis.
  13. I was thinking about burning all of my iTunes to CDs and importing them back in as MP3s anyway. Do you think that would work? Is there an easier way? At 16 songs per disc, it's going to take at least 32 CDs to export and import the songs...
  14. We still have a few kinks to work out, but here's how she looks!
  15. I just got my car back tonight with my new AVIC-D3. I have the Pioneer CD-i200 iPod adapter. My iPod is a hand-me-down from my brother-in-law. I don't know which generation it is. I can listen to some songs with no problems, but it won't play most of them. It shows the title and artist for a split second then moves to the next track. I can't find the common thread. Some songs I downloaded from iTunes; others I ripped from CDs. Has anyone else had this problem?
  16. I don't have my D3 in yet (probably tomorrow), but I've already started on some Mustang backgrounds. I used two different carbon fiber patterns: one from the Roush web site and one from Shelby. Anyone want to try these out and see if they look okay? I have access to other hi-res Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston Martin logos too. Let me know if you want those logos on this background.
  17. Here's a cool carbon fiber background. It's made for tiling. You can move it vertically to change the shade for your background.
  18. Hey guys, Jason just added a Custom Backgrounds section to the AVIC411.com Gallery! Having thumbnail views of your artwork will make it much easier for us to find what we're looking for. Check it out, and upload your work!
  19. Thanks Jason. The forum has already been a big help as far as the D3 bypass and some antenna placement ideas. I would like to see a section added to the Gallery for custom backgrounds. I know there are threads out there, but a thumbnail gallery view would rock. Could you also add D3 to the AVIC-D1/2 gallery section?
