  1. damn.. i took apart the unit.. smelly. i cooked something. looks like the PAL007C, which i think is the audio amp IC... I think my leads slipped off and the PKB gnd shorted one of the speaker leads. Even after correcting, and switching on power, it smoked more and blew the 10A fuse. So this chip is cooked. Partially good news is that it's only about 11 bucks on ebay. What I'm really afraid of with this kind of short resulting current flow, I may have taken other stuff out on the board which I wouldn't know about (((( (triple-unhappy-face). Anyhow, I guess i have to fork over the 14 bucks to a
  2. another idea would be to boot into the u310bt version of APL take 2.001 application from QI_037_CNSD_130FM and put it on your flash under the alternate application dir (PRG1) and set application flag (PRG.FLG) in My Flash Disk to get it to boot from PRG1 instead of PRG0. Can you see if it still does this... Sadly, I just did a very stupid thing this morning... I was hooking up the head unit to my bench powersupply and was moving it with the power applied and shorted something:(( Anyhow i managed to blow the fuse.. But i think it may be damaged beyond that (
  3. Can you just take the .enc and .pwd from another working app and rename/use for your new app? Does that work? My .enc/.pwd were from the Visual Clock, but on my model. Any valid .enc/.pwd combo for your platform should work (it's just not checked against validity for current .exe any more.) It will probably be another day or two before i can get back in and see which function it was that i patched, and with this in mind, take a look and see if there was anything else missed. Can you provide me a copy of your appslib.dll so i can disassemble and compare against my disassembled appslib
  4. check back in a day.. the maps are like a moving castle since they are getting whac-a-mole'd... they are behind a few levels of redirection.. also, you may want to do a search for a torrent called "q1uscan2011"
  5. i just updated the appslib.dll and removed a potentially unnecessary patch. I dont know if this contributes to any issue (i doubt it). yeah you can also check out my other post about running stock nav and updated 2011 maps/pois from sdcard too... I'm just not a fan of stock navi interface... At least igo is infinitely customizable... also found that the primo 1.2 thats available in other places doesnt seem to run (even in testmode), but igo8.3 is fine.. I will have to do some more troubleshooting next week on that...
  6. hi somniac... turns out the 1st of 3 edits was unecessary (i think). So i reduced to just last two edits.) i updated my other thread. see the new appslib.dll on it... http://avic411.com/i...t-f310bt-f320bt give this one a try! edit: also, here are the resulting edits i did (first one is original, second is edited dll) diff -u <(xxd Update/USER/PRG/APL/AppsLib.dll) <(xxd AppsLib.dll ) --- /dev/fd/63 2011-12-10 11:02:57.000000000 -0600 +++ /dev/fd/62 2011-12-10 11:02:57.000000000 -0600 @@ -679,7 +679,7 @@ 0002a60: 0234 85e0 0124 86e0 3d62 5be5 3182 5be5 .4...$..=b[.1.
  7. I actually patched 3 compare/branches... but i was just hitting it with a hammer.. i think some of these may be unecessary, or messing with other parts of the lib.. I'll undo them one by one to see if i can remove the unncessary stuff and see if that makes a difference... in the mean time, can you check md5 hash of your original appslib.dll? for comparison, the original from u310bt 2.001 update: 642709826e85b2afc8bc2623d7c9f864 QI_037_CNSD_130FM/Update/USER/PRG/APL/AppsLib.dll If it's different, maybe you can send it to me
  8. i found the cnsd-210fm update for z series which has updated 2011 maps and full pois, and it uses the same data format as the u310bt navi (cause its probably the same software) but the problem is, it's 3.5+ gb, which wont fit in the 2gb internal flash of u310bt/f310bt/f320bt ( well, not to worry! i found a very simple hack that essentially runs the stock nav app & maps/pois from sd card. this means we can run 2011 maps + full 2010 pois on u310bt and friends. ********************** searching for poi or address by city is not working for CNSD-210FM US/CAN poi - it goes right ba
  9. yes, you will need maps and pois for your region. http://gpsunderground.com/forum/igo-maps/8652-igo8-primo-2011-world-maps-full-europe-us-can-mex-austr-nz-asia-south-am.html
  10. here's the key: when the unit starts up, HMIManager.exe checks if this file exists: \My Flash Disk\System\AppsLib\Apps.dat If so, he executes this file in app-mode, if not, he launches navi.exe the file looks like this, and can be changed with a hex-editor. 0000000: aaaa aaaa 4100 5600 4900 4300 2d00 4100 ....A.V.I.C.-.A. 0000010: 5000 5000 5300 5c00 4c00 6100 7500 6e00 P.P.S.\.L.a.u.n. 0000020: 6300 6800 6500 7200 5c00 4c00 6100 7500 c.h.e.r.\.L.a.u. 0000030: 6e00 6300 6800 6500 7200 2e00 6500 7800 n.c.h.e.r...e.x. 0000040: 6500 e. 11. so does anybody have a dump of My Flash Disk (or similar) for this unit with the apps on it? How does pioneer load any new apps on this? Is it done through avic (or navgate) feeds pc app and sd card?
  12. so i think the f20bt euro version of z120bt? is that right? If somebody can provide me with a dump of the flash, i can take a look and see if there is some similar appmode, or if it's hidden in another directory. Does this avic unit use AVIC-APPS folder on SD card?
  13. ok started a new thread in the hopes that we can condense all the learnings of this for make benefit of all on this board... http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/33134-custom-appsnav-launcher/
  14. starting a new thread to try to condense what is needed to get your own 3rd party apps or nav (igo, etc) running in apps-mode abstract: This is a customization to allow you to run your own applications, including custom nav like igo 8.3, while using gps AND retaining some of the AV/Ipod controls/overlays, and basic BT phone features by running your own apps in app-mode. You will still need to use regular stock mode to edit advanced settings, pair bt phones, sync addr book, etc, since these rely on stock navi.exe app. applicable systems: u310bt f310bt ? f320bt (note: you don't nee
  15. just need to copy over appslib.dll to My Flash Disk\PRG0\APL, replacing the one thats already there... it's the lib that launches apps (and checks for proper signature) in app-mode
  16. vojopg: 1. did you copy hacked appslib.dll to My Flash Disk\PRG0\APL ? otherwise you will get an invalid app error 2. did you already setup an SD card with regular avic-apps folder by using the avicfeeds pc app (or navgate [euro version])? i think it installs device.dat and real "signed" apps into avic-apps of sd card. You should use my update to replace Applist.dat and add Launcher folder to avic-apps, after using the pc app to setup the sd card 3. if igo doesnt run in testmode, then something is wrong with that igo app (lang, ui, something). testmode completely bypasses loading of pionee
  17. maybe something wrong with igo or it's settings? for troubleshooting, can you run it straight from testmode without any issues? i actually had a few problems running igo at the start because i think i copied over some folders to igo wrong. after im running 8.3.4.142975 w/ 2011 NT maps. (gpsunderground forum is your friend)
  18. no. these are the maps for the igo on F series. 210FM is for different navi system (
  19. do you have igo installed and ready to run at \Storage Card\igo8\igo8.exe, or have you modified \AVIC-APPS\Launcher\Launcher.mscr to launch the app you want (with RunWait) ?? as a test, try dropping in some other executable (like regedit.exe, or whatever) in to the place of one of the other apps exe..
  20. So FourG, is there any kind of "apps mode" for other F series like f310/320/u310 with newer firmwares? This seems to work out better as I can still get all the overlays/controls with the desired app running underneath. Turns out that i didnt have to kill anything but as somniac points out, it's better with app-mode since navi.exe isnt running. minor downside is that advanced options/settings are not available until you exit/boot back to normal mode I have also an F700BT with fx3.1 which works ok, but would be interesting to get some app menu running.
  21. before you erased My Flash Disk, do you happen to know if you had a PRG.FLG file in there? If so, I think it tells the unit to load the app in PRG1 instead of default of PRG0. (if this is the case, not sure it would work with older 1.x app running on 2.x OS image). I'm not sure about the "My Flash Disk" folder anywhere here... Just repeat the steps: - from the update, copy APL & Fonts folder, and EL090APL.HTM /.VER to My Flash Disk/PRG0/ - from the update, copy VERINFO.DAT to My Flash Disk/SYSTEM/RENEWAL - from the update, copy VOLUME.DAT to My Flash Disk (i think others said this m
  22. more details? what exactly did you do?
  23. rodinhas, no, the original avic apps (clock, video player, photo viewer) don't work for some reason. They don't even work when you execute them directly, so something else is up. This does not change anything else about the stock setup, except for adding a 4th app, Launcher, that will run whatever you want. From there you could implement whatever you want. Also, You could replace the other apps (clock, video player, photo viewer) with any other version of this app, for example, ones from MioPocket collection, etc. dvel85, I only need one sdcard. It only updates the OS image and appl
  24. Thanks somniac and others... got avic-apps hack working to run igo8 w/ gps on u310bt... may work for other models that use the similar crappy navi.exe setup (diff platform may need a diff patch on AppsLib.dll - Z series?) details: #73
  25. ok fellas. success here thanks to others work. As the others reported, none of the avic apps seem to work with this for some reason. However, as i started to look at the crappy avic apps, realized that we could just get whatever apps (nav, etc) we want to run via this method and retain the av/ipod controls and some basic bt phone controls (answer/hangup/vol). So here's what I did to get your own custom apps running (in app mode): - patched AppsLib.dll which does the checking of program.enc and program.pwd so that it doesnt matter what program.exe you use. Need to stick this in \My F
