  1. By Demo mode I mean it self navigates w/out any set course/path. When in Map mode the unit doesnt show an accurate position, but more so that even when STOPPED or parked it continues to show the vehicle tracking over oceans or otherwise completely of course. Of course the first inclination was installer error (Number one cause of problems w/ 12V products). But I checked installed the 3rd vehicles from scratch myself verifying all connections and road tested it about 20 miles w/out any problems. The bypass works perfect, when the GPS 'flakes out' the vehicle dynamics are showing acc
  2. We posted this in troubleshooting forum, but I wasn't sure if we should post here as well. We've had severe issues w/ Pre-July Z2 bypasses where the navigation screens go into a qwazi Demo mode. This was confirmed by a pioneer technical representative to be a GLITCH or a bug in the update software where they were going to release a patch. Has anyone else run into this yet and does anyone else have a work around on it. It's definately installed 100% correct and has happened to us on 3 seperate installs with 4 seperate units. Please advise if this 'bug' has been corrected on the bypass downl
  3. I wanted to find out if anyone else is having this issue. We've had 3 seperate vehicles and 4 units now. That were early 2007 models. We do the bypass/update on them and the unit randomly mis-tracks on navigation. I don't mean its to the point where you should stop and reset your current position I mean the unit behaves as thought its jumped over to DEMO mode randomly. We've contacted our 'insider' at pioneer and he's stated this is a BUG in the bypass software that they will later be releasing a patch for, but don't have an ETA. Basically he told me just to warranty them for
  4. The VSS wire on the pioneer Avic Units is primarily used for "Vehicle Dynamics" and then for more precise speed calculations when calculating distance. The unit may also utilize VSS in times where there aren't sufficient satellite coverage. So, the 'solution' has nothing to do with VSS wire. Nor does discounting the GPS antenna offer a solution or a bypass. It's more like 'ghetto engineering'...... It will be an issue of varying voltage and or pulsing a wire on the unit more than likely during boot up, itself. The Unit itself does not have any connections to simply jumper out. So yes,
  5. FYI to added onto ducattiboy. The unit actually reads the internal gyroscope and the GPS antenna. Any speed in excess of 5 MPH causes a lock out. With the parking brake always grounded it will allow you to return to watching video on the screen itself once the vehicle has slowed below 5 MPH for approximately 3-5 seconds. The moment your MPH is increased above 5 MPH it goes ahead and locks you out once again. But just like everyone else has said there DEFINATELY IS a procedure for bypassing this. It's only a matter of time. If anyone whose been wanting a Z2 but doesnt have one yet, con
  6. There certainly is a bypass. It's just a matter of time. Pioneer would significantly lose market share if there wasn't a method of 'testing' or installing on RV/MOTORHOMES. This we HAVE been assured of through our sales channels.
  7. All you have to do is put a switch on the Reverse wire of the unit itself so that you can manually flip a switch to turn reverse camera on and off. Then using an RCA cable use your VIDEO out on the Z2 unit and loop it back into your REAR CAMERA INPUT wire. This will give you a video bypass while having a notice across the screen saying its the camera an objects may appear reversed, ETC.
  8. We operate a shop/distributor in Florida and would like to make an offer to anyone whose been waiting on the AVIC-Z2 unit to come out in order to test it. Any hackers/moders wishing to purchase an AVIC-Z2 unit we will give to them at 1650.00 shipped. We've tried and tried to bypass these units in our retail store with no luck so we're reaching out to the community and selling these units at our cost. WE ARE AUTHORIZED PIONEER DEALERS so the unit will come with a full warranty (providing of course you dont void it). I'm not sure if the moderators will allow this post, but if they d
