  1. You get the VSS signal from the canbus interface. That's the point of the peripheral interface, and the reason I upgraded from the Metra unit. The Metra merely turns on the factory amp. People are on here to help you if you ask nicely.
  2. Like I said, I meant no offense, but you were asking basic stuff that signaled you might need help. I don't care how you took it, but that is how I meant it. I don't know, nor do I care where your VSS wire is. Get the canbus interface and it will solve some of your problems.
  3. I seriously think you may need some help wth your install, no offense meant. I bought the peripheral as a replacement for the metra interface.
  4. I have the Peripheral Canbus interface. Reverse, parking brake, VSS, Illumination, etc... all work fine. I bought the Metra/Axxess unit first and upgraded to the Peripheral.
  5. Had to get a new bezel, mounting bracket, and the metra kit, but all was good. Ipod, backup camera, and XM. I love it. Vizualogic headrests, so no cutting, and I used the Peripheral Canbus interface for reverse, vss, and the bypass. Special thanks to Henry for the XM, headrests, and backup camera install. It all sounds really good with the factory infinity system. Let me know what you think.
  6. what I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... &rd=1&rd=1 I bought it before finding this forum, so I hope the interface is what I need. I bought the Peripheral canbu also since it definitely has what I need.
  7. Double DIN NAV kit for Durango and a new dash bezel. I also just picked up Perripheral's canbus interface, so I should be good to go. I also bought Metra's CHTO-01, but I don't think it has the vss or reverse wire, so I may just sell it. Do you have any knowledge of the CHTO-01? Thanks, RON
  8. wouldn't a swithc automatically fool the D3 into thinking I was in reverse? That way I can check on the kids faster without using the touchscreen.
  9. Any help would be much appreciated. Won't have my gear until Monday, but trying to be prepared. Do I need the VSS for nav to perform properly?
  10. I have a D3 in route and I am considering a backup camera. I don't want to use it as a backup camera yet, I want to keep tabs on my child with it for now. My question is this: can I wire the camera up to the D3's switched power so it is on when I have the ignition on, and then put a switch in-line for me to flip to check on my child? Will the camera then come on when I give it power through the switch? Thanks, I'm a rearview camera noob.
