  1. The relay setup has been a bit dodgy since the latest firmware update. I would recommend a switch like the next "Maccrap" post suggests. I know it is a bit more effort to flip a switch, I wish the relays were more consistent, but the switch is more reliable. I didn't want to have a switch installed, nor did I want to have to use it every time I want video. But it seems like the right choice now. The relay is setup to send the break signal after the radio powers up (on the remote signal), which has worked for the appradio in the past. Although after the lastest firmware, it appears the app
  2. This makes sense to me. My 5pin relay setup did not work, I tried multiple times. So I pulled the ground wire and the pbrake wire from the relay. Then loaded the DVD, then tried touching the wires together, releasing, then together again... worked perfect! So I setup a switch with those two wires, and it works great. Switch is really simple answer that shouldn't ever stop working (as some firmware upgrades have made relays not work for other models, e.g. Appradio). Get a 3 prong switch. Hookup the parking break wire to the lead. The ground to either of the other prongs (the pron
  3. Just an optimistic thought, but I think with pioneer putting "advanced app" features into their new standard decks that are coming out (i.e. p8400), we should see more support!
  4. Wouldn't the relay only send one signal to the deck? How would that simulate the break on/off/on process? Do you need 2.22 and AppRadio extensions to use the relay?
  5. Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. =)
  6. My main question is simply, is there a workaround for getting this to work with iPhone 3GS? I know the radio and ipod functions work, I'm looking to use apps (mainly navigation) and the phone function. I'd also like to know: - What difference is in the iPhone 3GS from the iPhone 4 that prevents it from working with the deck? - What are people's opinions on the chances this deck will be compatible with an iPhone 5?
  7. As I mentioned in the parking break thread, I've just purchased an appradio and I am a complete noob. My apologies for my ignorance. Is there anyway to get the AppRadio to work with an iPhone 3GS? I'm sharing the radio with my girlfriend, and we would both like to be able to use it. The radio (of course) and ipod features seem to work just fine. If I get the break bypass to work, will the apps work? The phone currently doesn't. Thank you in advance, this seems like a great forum!
  8. Hi all, I've just purchased an appradio. I am a complete noob. I have read this whole thread, but I have some questions. Hardwire fixes: 1) Relay + TR7 = will AUTOMATICALLY engage the double bypass for the parking break every time the car is turned on. The drawback is that the appradio asks for the parking break routine every time you start a new app. So leaving the navigation app and coming back to it later, you may have the warning message and not be able to use the navigation? 2) Switch = can MANUALLY send a +ive, -ive, +ive signal to simulate the brake when needed. The drawbac
