    I tried it tonight. The favorites drift back into hiding after awhile. It's a shame. Sometimes I like to mix up the view.

    The giant XMRADIO icon is there to display album art. If you want more text, you could expand your favorites list. I've noticed that this does push the album art off the screen and gives you a bit more text.

    I have 105 CD's in lossless on a 128GB flash drive. Works for me if I want high quality tunes. 256kbps is also very good if using iPod/iPhone. iPod is truly the simplest way to go. Even get an iPod classic which can get up to 160GB's. Run a usb to your glove compartment and leave it in there if you just want music.

    I hope you adjusted the volume for the source. SXM is definitely a few db's lower. You should be adjusting all your inputs to match FM As closely as possible.

    Apple will put out a press communication when the first car launches or that it gives the go ahead for companies to release firmware updates to allow Carplay. This does not just affect Pioneer but any car manufacturer with infotainment system that will require a firmware update to enable Carplay.

    iPhone 6 event on Sept 6. iOS 8 most likely released that date too. One month away. Not expecting Carplay before. Just sayin' (again)

    It will work if anyone releases it publicly. It may not ultimately work the way Apple wants it to work. The hold ups could be related to software, trademark issues or agreements with other manufacturers. All we can be pretty site of is that Apple has reasons for holding the release.

    AutoEQ did do something similar for me as far as timing and balance are concerned. I used the Pioneer mic and got good results. My EQ was still tweaked by me a bit but I am loving the SQ. Great separation between instruments and vocals and bass is punchy and not muddy.

    That may be, but is any testing even being done as part of a public beta for Carplay at all? Bottom line is no one has it outside of manufacturers. There could be fixes coming to maps, or other apps that are part of Carplay that could negatively affect the launch. There is a very short window between now and the launch of iOS 8. Another few weeks does not seem like that long of time for Apple to hold off.

    There is another beta build of iOS 8 expected this week. The final GM will be in about a months time. If there were any changes to Carplay during tested that would have to be pushed in a software update to iOS 7. Could that happen in the interim? Sure. Just not sure about the likelihood. I'd be very happy about getting Carplay today, but I just don't see it happening with iOS 7.

    And Microsoft should force Apple to use WMA. ALAC works fine for apple and even HD Tracks and B&W offer downloads so the "industry standard" label does not go far. If anything iTunes and iPod are more of an industry standard than FLAC. If Apple offered 1TB iPhones my music would be in ALAC and played through my phone and I wouldn't need a USB drive. Again, we get it. You do not use Apple, do not like the company or their products. Why do you care?

    Bringing one's anti-Apple rhetoric to a conversation about an Apple codec is nothing more than a thread fart. You've made your feelings known with other comments in other threads. We get it. You don't like Apple and don't use their products. This thread should not concern you then.

    I had an issue one day when I plugged my phone in and got a clicking sound. I reset my phone and loaded everything back up and that did the trick. Otherwise check another source in the USB and see if the problem resolves itself.

    If you're on a Mac you can use XLD which will convert ALAC back to FLAC. It's time consuming but if you have the space to do the conversion it can be done.

    I hear a notable difference. Even more so because the audio is being processed by the head unit. It took some time but I have a 128GB flash drive filled with my favorite albums after converting my ALAC back to FLAC. Beats carrying CD's around.

    Right...I know there were issues with Apple Maps developers leaving. This could have delayed the rollout. Could be anything. Bottom line is this is most likely an Apple issue and they don't want this getting out half baked. In the meantime Pioneer owners are caught in the middle since the latest firmware is tied into Carplay. We are obviously not going to see this in July. Still think the release of iOS 8 at the earliest.

    Even brought up a good question about moving the icons. Strange that you would not be able to rearrange them. Something tells me that will not ultimately be the case.

    I see this from time to time but I believe it has more to do with how SXM buffers the album art. If I get to a channel without album art after scanning for awhile the art will eventually load and be constant as long as I remain on a given channel. The art may preload in a range of channels. It's nothing I lose sleep over as we never had album art before so it's a bonus. BTW, Bring Back Ant!

    Agreed. Pioneer should not be waiting for Apple. There should be a separate firmware upgrade to install the missing Pioneer features. And iOS 8 is expected in the first few weeks of September. Carplay will be released with fanfare. It's the way Apple does things.

    This only happens when the HD signal is too weak. There is a selection in the menu to turn HD radio off. Not sure why you would prefer to have the weaker analog station though.
