  1. I have issues with music not playing when the phone is plugged in from time to time no matter the file. I often have to pull the cable out and reinsert and everything is fine. It's one of my major frustrations with the unit and CarPlay. I'm not sure which is to blame.
  2. See my post that I responded to you on, on Mac Rumors. Take a screen shot the same way you would take a screen shot of your phone. While in CarPlay and your phone is in sleep, press sleep and home button.
  3. This is how I do it on an 8000 NEX. Not sure if your unit is the same.
  4. Still annoyed that I can't shuffle artist in CarPlay since they updated the music app.
  5. I wonder if Apple has been sitting on CarPlay approval for both Pandora and Slacker. Interesting that they just showed up recently. Pandora users should check their App updates to see if this was part of the last round of updates. Apple Radio is junk so nice to have better alternatives.
  6. My favorite radio service is now on CarPlay. At 4 bucks a month for great sound quality and awesome stations XM is cancelled.
  7. Except Apple maps can be updated with every OS update and are free. I wouldn't even mind a slight charge to keep all POI's and addresses stored locally.
  8. I do wish Apple makes were less reliant on cell phone signal so I could use it wherever I am. For that reason alone I'm forced to use a head unit with on board maps. Also, there is no shuffle artist button in CarPlay now. Siri is especially annoying. Siri, shuffle artist Foo Fighters. Bitch comes back with, "Here are some popular Foo Fighters songs." Ugh. That's not what I asked!
  9. I do wish the artwork was a tad sharper but even when it was it had that horrible black mask over it. Yes in bright sunlight it is a little hard to see but I'm fine with that. The fade made it look like half my screen was broken and I'd barely see the top third of the artwork. I even toned down my brightness and contrast settings.
  10. Can you actually use an SD card through Carplay? I would think it has to be all sourced from the phone. Also, if you want album art through the head unit it has to be embedded into each file (song).
  11. Sure. Here's a few of the better ones.
  12. One remaining issue is that there is still no Shuffle Artist control. I hope they fix that for the final release. I was hoping for some more apps as well..Come on Slacker!
  13. I have to take back what I said earlier about the Album Art implementation in iOS 9. I downloaded the beta and I think this may be the best release yet. No, you don't see a a sharp rendering of the album art, but you do get a fullscreen blur of the art that is very tasteful and "artistic". For the most part, the ugly banding is gone from Carplay trying to fade the image to black from top to bottom. The entire screen is now filled with color so it doesn't look like half your screen is broken. The brightness also seems to be much better. Yes, I am still cranking the Brightness a bit but before I
  14. Yes, Apple is THE problem. When CarPlay launched the album art filled the screen. There was no fade around the controls. It was still dim be viewable. Someone must have thought the art was a distraction to drivers, especially if it meshed with the the onscreen controls and added the fade making it almost pointless to be there. This new "solution" is even worse.
  15. Yeah..that doesn't look too ugly. Ugh...
  16. Yes, that is usually the case, but Pandora has also lagged behind with suggestions that its relationship with Apple was complicated. It might be more difficult to get an app approved through Apple then for Google as well. Spotify was also launched a long time before Apple had its own streaming service and the app itself has been garbage since Day 1. Still, I'd like to see the Slacker interface on Android Auto. Can you see all your Favorites or just a few, etc.
  17. I saw the news that Slacker Radio is now available on Android Auto. I'm hoping this gets a release to Carplay with iOS 9 but I'm getting the feeling Apple is not making the approval process easy for any company that might be competing with Apple Music. Has anyone tried the app an AA? How is the interface, etc.?
  18. I have a few newfound frustrations today. 1. There is no way to shuffle (via "button") artist with the new music player. 2. If I use Siri to shuffle artist songs from albums not physically saved to my iPhone are played. This is most likely due to Apple Music being active but I do not want this.
  19. I do think most of this will be improved in iOS 9. I don't like that my Favorite Radio stations are now gone and can only choose recently played or featured stations. I went T-Mobile so no more streaming costs for me.
  20. I actually think the Pioneer Nav is the best I have used. It gives me enough info visually that I really don't listen to the TTS. I've never heard one get every pronunciation right.
  21. I haven't had those problems. Try resetting your phone if you haven't. I have had lock ups in the past but been pretty smooth since 8.3.
  22. I find CarPlay the better alternative to navigating my playlists, contacts, messaging and accessing other audio apps on my phone. That said, once I have what I need up and running I find the navigation in the 8000 blows away Apple Maps and the album art solution in CarPlay is bad to the point of annoyance. CarPlay has a ways to go yet before it reaches its full potential but it's a must have for me.
  23. Do a search for 28023BH00A and you will find your answer.
  24. I had this problem initially with my USB and thought it was 1.08. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I believe the way I fixed it was to put another USB in so the database changed. Once I went back to my normal USB it re indexed itself and was working the way it should. Actually I read this again. I don't think my iPod pauses anymore but it might be an improvement with iOS 8.3. If it's paused at least I can get to the same song that was playing. It's tough to say how much is the head unit and how much is phone related.
  25. Not having to lock is definitely a good thing. Even better, is the last song playing continues to play after restarting the car. Before, I would turn the car off, go inside or run an errand and when I got back would have to restart the playlist. Not happening so far. Also, I have not had the issue where the phone connects in silence, that required me to unplug and plug the phone back in again. Pretty happy so far...oh..Spotify still sucks.
