I have the motionx app on an original AppRadio, and I do not need to pay to be allowed to manipulate the main screen. Even if I did, the main screen is pretty bare. No need to really touch it.

Update: Crutchfield is awesome. They are just sending me another AppRadio to swap for the one I have now. I don't know if I'll touch the 2.5 update again. I'm honestly scared of it. Have other people updated and retained their pandora fine?

It's weird too because I checked the file sizes and all the pieces of the new update are the same between europe and the US, except for the CE66 folder, which I reinstalled the US version. Yet, my pandora is still DOA.

App still will not load for me at all. Oh well.

I'm ok for now. Thankfully pandora doesn't go into app mode when you open it, so I at least still have access to it. It's just depressing seeing the appradio not doing anything with that display.

DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE IN THE US! I just did and while (thankfully) the appradio functions fine, Pandora is no longer supported. The euro version of the software does not have Pandora support because pandora isn't available in europe. Unless you do not use pandora do not update. You cannot downgrade back. There are a lot of under the hood changes to 2.5. The update process itself takes two microSD cards to do and updates the ECU, MPU, Bluetooth, and MCU. I doubt these settings will be compatible with older versions of the software. Hopefully, if I'm lucky, the US version of 2.5 wil

The new 2.5 software just came out, but there is no signs of it here in the US. In fact the US page doesn't even have a firmware update section any longer for the AppRadio. However, there is an English version of the 2.5 software On the European pioneer website. Can I install the euro firmware on my appradio, and would there be any problems with doing so? If anyone has done this in the past I'd be very interested in the result.

I don't know about other countries but here in the US the update tab is non existent on the pioneer website.

The black out on pandora is an app problem. I don't know why it's doing it, but it started to on my AppRadio after one of the more recent pandora updates.

I love the CarMediaPlayer app. Anyone hoping for that style interface with that level of smoothness from the AppRadio stock iPod app doesn't realize that the stock hardware is not that powerful. It could maybe handle the AppRadio 2 interface, but I doubt well. CarMediaPlayer is rendered in and powered by the iPhone's internal chips. That's why when it runs, it runs so smooth. Also iTunes Match support is amazing. But happy rant aside, because I love the app so much, I am utterly infuriated that it doesn't work anymore. It won't work at all. I load it, and nothing happens. I'd say it gets much better if you get a switch to be your parking break. I just installed one and it's working amazing.
