  1. @Carver, Did you ever make a script that re-packs the files made by dui-unpack2 ? This feels soooo close...
  2. Hi All, My AVIC F900BT arrived yesterday, and I had chance to hook it up last night and have a quick play around. I have to say that first impressions I'm a little underwhelmed The main menu system (eg. the non NAV bits) is very dated looking, and I was very disappointed at the music playing screen - no album art display (i'm not using ipod) very small window for track names, nasty looking buttons etc.. I saw a video on youtube when I was researching the unit (since I couldn't find one locally to play with) and it had some much nicer looking menus with a bit of animation between
  3. Thanks ovalball, Am I correct in thinking this essentially let you install any CE app and launch it? I'm trying to determine the differences between this and Chuck88's mod for example, but I'm struggling to figure out what exactly it gives me. I guess it will all become clear once my device arrives and I can have a play, but I'm eager to learn what other tweaks can be done
  4. Ah ok, so the SD slot is just a means of getting them onto the device.. now I'm with you So, does an SD with MP3's just have to be present or do you need to actually be playing something from it? Cheers
  5. I've been reading up on the available mods while I await my F900bt - could anyone explain the sound issue with Primo 2.0 ? The notes say that sound only works if an SD with MP3's is inserted before starting Primo. I may be sounding slightly thick here, but as my F900 is yet to arrive I'm a little unclear - AFAIK the SD slot in the front of the unit holds the maps? I've got a 32GB card already, which I'm going to have a bunch of MP3's on anyway (and the maps if that's where they live), so does this mean sound will just work? or do you have to be using the SD card as an audio source (ie. a
  6. Hey. I'm currently waiting for my F900 to be delivered and I'm trying to figure out what upgrades I should do when it gets here. Could anyone explain exactly what benefits AVICNet has over the standard Pioneer stuff? I've had a search around and it looks like a new launcher to use other CE apps, but I'm not sure what else it unlocks...
  7. Thanks, I've been doing more reading and see that for a standard setup I can just use the firmware from the pioneer site like you say. I guess the main question is which of the available mods is the best/most stable? How do you find Tomtom on the unit? - I saw some videos on youtube and it looked like it ran pretty slowly :-/
  8. Hi All, I've just purchased myself an AVIC F900BT which should hopefully be arriving in a few days. I'm guessing it will probably be an old software version, as the listing didn't say it's been updated. So, I've been reading on here and I'm quite confused with all the different options available for updating (Chuck88's, AVICNet, Diaftia's etc..) I'm also not sure what the latest version of firmware is available for the F900BT ? - some posts mention FW4.x but no real mention of what's changed, another I read seemed to suggest you can flash either the F series firmware or the X series,
