  1. Can someone tell me if this sounds like it might be correct... I recently installed a Z-1 in my 07 Silverado (new body style). I took a 30 mile drive and the navigation worked great. Later that same day I got in the truck and the navigation was no longer working. Everything else on the system (radio, dvd, tv tuner, xm tuner, bluetooth) still works great. But the unit says location not available due to hardware. Took it to several installers and they all said that the wiring is correct, and that it must be a faulty unit. So the dealer I bought it from is going to replace it for me. However, the
  2. I've been following this thread for what seems like months. Finally lost hope and bought the Z-1 since I knew it could be bypassed. However the Z-1 ended up having some issues, and the seller is offering to replace it. However, I spoke with an installer here in Houston, and he and his colleague swear that they have bypassed several Z-2's. His boss said it would cost me $50 to do it. When he left, the installer whispered to me that it was the exact same 2-wire bypass that I currently had on my Z-1. He said every Z-2 they have installed has been bypassed, and that they have not had any issues. T
  3. This may have already been asked somewhere, but I can't find anything on it. Can I ground the two wires directly to the ground on the factory radio harness, or do they need to be physically grounded to the vehicles body?
  4. Looking for the easiest place to connect VSS wire and back-up wire for a 2007 Silverado (new body style). Using an os3-bose adapter, and the wires are not part of the harness as someone else suggested. I would think that both wires would be somewhere in the factory harness.
  5. I need the following info to install an Avic-Z1 in a 2007 Silverado (new body style): 1. Best and easiest place to connect vss wire. 2. Best and easiest place to connect illumination wire. 3. Best and easiest place to connect reverse signal wire. Thanks!
  6. I'm a few days away from purchasing my Avic. I was going to get the Z2, however now I'm leaning towards getting a Z1 since the bypass is already known, and nobody has had any luck on bypassing the Z2. I figure I can get the Z1, bypass it, and get the Z2 software update CD's when they are available. I'm wondering though if by installing the Z2 software updates, will they make the Z1 bypass not work anymore? With my luck, this is exactly what would happen, and then someone would publish the Z2 bypass..... Any thoughts, suggestions, Z2 bypass updates?
