Switched the X940 > something european. (test mode still thinks its an X940BT) But heres a question regarding the change to AplLib.dll. codes 2A ,35, 37, 39 do not show significant differences except for the Handbrake nag warning and I believe traffic sources. However its the change from E1 > E3 affects the tuner, E1 seems to give better stepping, but the US freq FM range, yet E3 gives a much more UK freq range but US stepping. Also with E1 set, you cannot search postcodes or addresses Does anyone have any further info in these codes ?

I understand what your saying, but i have to try, and if i brick the unit, fixing it will be a learning experience. From what I understand, I have the update which I have placed on an SD card and replaced your VERINFO.dat file with the existing one. All I need to do is get the apllib.dll file from the HU, change the identifier to represent an EU model and put it back. Then run the update and after that completes, I should be good to install maps?

Hi pionara, Sorry to be a pain, I really appreciate your help on this as im a bit of a n00b and WILL ask some stupid questions until i get it in my head properly. I guess I would use the code for UK f940bt as I currently have a US x940 bt ? I'm running ver 4.00, I have tried several times to get into test mode, by holding down home + pressing <<, >>, <<, >> and also tried the same with the mode button as well as the reverse keys but nothing seems to work I downloaded the CNSD-310FM/EU5 file from this thread "CNSD-310FM EU 2012 update" and also download

I just tried MP4 files converted with handbake for mac and they wont play from a usb stick , the videos play fine in itunes and other apps do any other formats work on the x940BT ? unfortunately i cannot use DVD's as the region is US and Im in the UK

Thanks for your help man, So basically, get into test mode, backup then copy the 2 files off for editing and put them back? I guess then I can download the maps and just install them? I know you can get a DAB addon, for the f940, I guess this will also work on the X series and then that the tuner problem solved. It a shame the region cant be hacked, but then theres always flash drives to store movies i guess Craig

Thanks, can I just buy the maps from navteq and install them? it seems like a massive ballache to mess around with the firmware etc. and im guessing I should have the latest firmware as the HU is only 3 weeks old.

Will this work to change the maps from US to Europe and the DVD region? Im totally new at this and have just fitted a US X940BT. Does everything work ok after doing this on this model ? Thanks for your time man.
