  1. I mentioned this in jest in another post, but in all seriousness it would be nice to be able to change the current position indicator on the nav screen from that ugly and boring red arrow to something more interesting. I checked in the AVIC110 distribution directory structure and could not find any image files that might represent these icons. Pionara, you seem to be the expert on the code ... do you know if these cursors are soft-coded in a distribution file or embedded in one of the executables where they can be changed (even if via binary editor)? (Fyi I have a z130BT running 3.
  2. I have the z130, and the music still plays ... I haven't tried to pause it, but the phone screen popup overlays the base screen so I don't think I could get to the pause control if I wanted to. yes -- not fun to have your favorite song play out in the background because your mother-in-law just called ...
  3. Are these folder/file limits still in effect on the z130bt 3.001? I'm getting ready to buy an SD card and would like to know if I can get a larger capacity SD or will have to split my files between SD and USB. Thanks. John ** Update ** Never mind -- I just checked today and it looks like the limit is still there. I created three folders, each with 1000 small MP3s in it. The first two folders displayed all 1000 files, but the third folder showed only 500 files. Is the limit because the AVIC is caching the file/folder structure in memory? Other than lack of physical ra
  4. No inline amp that I know of. I still have to get the radio antenna amps connected though ... maybe that has an effect on it? I see the 91dBa spec -- don't know where I got the 79 from ... I must have spaced and been reading the wrong PDF file (although I downloaded the z130 specifically ... hmmm). I'll check individual speaker outputs to see if there is a difference. Eventually I plan to install an external amp so if I can't solve this minor annoyance sooner then it will be solved later. But those of you who are using the internal amp on this unit hear no noise floor at vol.20 ?
  5. Thanks for the suggestions. For my first rip I am using high quality variable bit rate mp3 ... getting around 250k on the files. Pionara, per your suggestion I'll also try some comparisons with AAC to see if I like it better. If I do I can always re-rip the my highest quality albums. I wish the unit could handle FLAC ... it would be nice to have one lossless format that can retain dictionary information (since WAV does not)
  6. I have a z130BT installed in my car and for now am using the stock internal 18wx4 amplifier. When I play SD or USB source (and I'm pretty sure DVD too) and have the volume up in the 17-18 range I can start to hear a noise floor. It's pretty low but is still discernable when the source material is completely silent or during the "mute" moment while changing tracks. The specs say S/N ratio is 79db which isn't great. But before I go out and buy an amp to use the pre-outs, I'd like to confirm this that the noise floor I am hearing from the internal amp is normal. Thanks. John
  7. I just finished installing my z130BT, and am ready to move all of my music CDs to SD and USB format to play in the car. What is the suggested format for ripping CDs to (1) obtain the best discernable sound quality, and (2) provide the best song/album display information for the screen? I have noticed WAV files sounding better than 128k mp3, so I'm thinking I'll need better than 128k mp3. Is there anything smaller than WAV format that will suffice? I have also noticed that the filenames show up on the screen ... am I stuck with filenames or will they be replaced by song/album infor
  8. So the most we can do here is 32gb SD card and 32gb USB storage -- both formatted FAT32? I'm not going to get many albums loaded up if I use WAV format ... And does anyone have a better answer to the file sorting issue other than downloading DiskSort or FolderSort from the internet? Thanks. John
  9. Over three years later and the problem still exists. I just installed my z130bt this weekend, popped in an SD card this morning and was shocked to see my files scrambled within each folder. I listen to a lot of soundtracks, and if the tracks aren't in order it's a mess. There is no sensible reason why a media player should sort files by create or update date ... the default sort order (and only sort order when the user has no ability to alter) should be alphabetical. I just logged another service request with Pioneer. I'm really surprised this hasn't been fixed. Sure there are work
