Voltage meter will just show the voltage diff when the car is stopped compared to when it is moving, which will then eliminate the other wires as being the VSS. If you wanted to see the difference hook the wire up to an oscilloscope and you will be able to see the square wave. And yes the unit will tell you if you have correctly hooked up the wire.

VSS wire pulses. Higher speed = more pulses. So the unit counts the pulse, not the voltage diff.

Any chance anyone knows where the VSS is on an 93 Acura Vigor? Just about nothing can be found on this car. Thanks
