I have seen it several times where if a theif can't get your stereo out, they will destroy it so you can't use it either. You can chain it up, but if somebody goes to steal it and finds it chained or bolted, chances are they will smash your screen up. Just telling it like it is. I have contacted boxwave about their screen protectors. They make the best (no lie) screen protectors out there. I use them on my pda and have never had a problem with them. The antiglare ones are great because they show no oil or fingerprints and reduce glare (thus the name). They also have a crystal clear version, but they do show oils/fingerprints. In regards to the extra warranty, they typically are garbage and a waste of money. I am a living example of a case with Best Buy. In August of 2005 I bought two laptops and the extra warranties for each. In February the sound on one of the laptops quit working. I called BB, they said you have the extra warranty, bring it in and we will take care of it. I thought great!, I am glad I bought that warranty. I am looking to buy one of these HU's and wonder exactly how long the boot up is. I am debating between the Z1 and the Eclipse AVN6600.

I haven't seen the extended warranty that everyone is buying so I am not 100% sure on this, but with it being a 3rd party insurer, they may require professional installation, and proof of it to warranty your Z1 if it does break. I have had experience with a couple of these 3rd party insurance companies and they will find every last excuse to get out of repairing the problem.
