2005 Chevy Silverado with Auto Lights at night
ducatiboy replied to StevenRapp's topic in Hacks/Mods
do u have that option?
I don't know what you are asking? -
Cool, if you hear anything please keep us updated.

No it can't be done. You can only encode CD audio from a regular Audio CD to the Z1's hard drive in AT3 format. You can make an audio cd out of MP3's and then let the Z1 re-encode the audio tracks to AT3 for play back in the library. But that's about it.

No just video while stopped, but you don't have to do anything, except hit ok past another pop up every time you start your vehicle.

I seem to remember that the "hit ok" took a little while to respond... to the point of I thought something might have been wrong. But it seems like you are waiting long enough for the ok to register. I don't believe that I have heard of this. Did you download the CD and burn it or is it a pioneer official disk. If you have burned it, I have heard of problems at the end of the update.... take the update disk into a pc and copy every file from it to a directory on your hard drive... does it copy every file or does it fail on one (or more). If it fails on one/some, take the ISO image and -
I like to work on how to get music into Z2.
ducatiboy replied to mickeyvnminnie's topic in Hacks/Mods
I don't know, but I doubt it would work. It's possible that it's not. Some people had the assumption that since the Z1/Z2 would re-lock the drive when it's re-inserted, that it must be unlocked and the user would lock it when they first power up. Which anyone who knows logic knows that doesn't make sense. No one ever unscrewed a Z1 or Z2 before it was powered up to forcefully extract the hard drive before power was applied. To get behind the screen, you need to have power to it to hit eject to remove the drive out the front behind the screen. So everyone so far has powered it up -
Z2 Parking brake to ground or not to ground?
ducatiboy replied to caadoptees's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Yep that one is ok. Depending on the LED you get you can adjust the resistance. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED_circuit Go here for a simple calculator: http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz But a 1K should be fine for most common red LED's. -
I don't think it was me, I don't know of any place to download music videos than the lame P2P, torrent or newsgroup places.

I think you only need to have a secondary ide channel if you want to unlock a stock drive. If you want to just disable a password for a new drive, you can do that on any IDE channel. -
Z2 Parking brake to ground or not to ground?
ducatiboy replied to caadoptees's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Guess you were typing that up before I edited mine with the picture. The parking brake when applied is ground, when not applied it floats to +12. Sorry about the bad MS paint. Technically on the left side of the switch and the negative side of the battery, that, if you can't tell, is the vehicle's ground point. -
Z2 Parking brake to ground or not to ground?
ducatiboy replied to caadoptees's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
caadoptees, actually... No, what you have there will not do anything other than have a switch that would turn on and off a light. You want something more like this. Sorry about the bad MS paint file, it was the quickest thing I can do. -
You can't, the Z1 and Z2 only have normal and dim, just 2 settings. You can set those settings to whatever level you want, but based off the headlights, you only get 2 settings.

FYI, mazdaspeed is just kidding.

June 06 you needed to flash the lights before the bluetooth update. After you install the bluetooth update, you ground 2 wires and that's all you have to do. No more flashing.

No, and it seems Pioneer doesn't know either

It's 50 miles from brand new. Once it pops up the first time, it will pop up every time after that within about a quarter mile. It only works when the unit is new for up to 50 miles or so.

It was my first attempt into air powered. I planned on a short 4 to 6 inch tank and the long barrel with a rifled PVC pipe..... I had an order from "spudtech.com" for a pneumatic dump valve that was 3 inches in diameter. I was planning on ordering stuff from McMaster for that. But this was a whim and bought the stuff at lowes for a air powered. I would also like to put a tazer for the ignition on my combustion one and add a chamber fan as well some day. Maybe make a metered propane set up for it too. We were using oxygen from a torch to vent the chamber one time... That made s

All build dates of the Z1 are bypassable, but to do it you need to know what the date is and if you have installed the bluetooth update cd. All instructions are here: http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html If you follow those instructions, all Z1's are bypassable and the bypass is VERY reliable.

Just lucky I guess. It depends on where you live. My last property was 200 feet x 150 feet, now I have a few acres. It costs more but I like the privacy.

I might be mistaken, but this might be hard. It won't work the way you have it, because when you have it into the AV input, you are telling the Z1 that you want the video (and audio) from your laptop to be what's playing. The rear AV output can have the DVD player being outputted while you are doing this because it's dual zone. But by the way this is being hooked up, you are telling the Z1 that your "primary" zone is the laptops audio and video. I don't know how you would be able to view the video from the laptop on the aux and listen to something else in the Z1 at the same time.

That will work for, at most, 50 miles. Than the Z2 will realize that you are moving due to the GPS antenna and the VSS and internal gyros and lock you out and also pop up a warning about your parking brake not hooked up correctly and not only will it no longer work, you will get an extra pop up warning message about your parking brake every single time you start the car (even if you disengage the parking brake) until you reset the Z2. So no it really doesn't work.

Z2 Parking brake to ground or not to ground?
ducatiboy replied to caadoptees's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Now that would be cool, but wouldnt that still require you to stop to get full navi functionality? Yah if there was a circuit which would do that... you would have to come to a stop, but something could automatic activate the parking brake and back again.... it's possible. -

ducatiboy replied to caadoptees's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
You can't do what you want to do without getting that error. You know it's possible to make a circuit which would watch the VSS wire and ground the parking brake automatically when you stop and unground it when you start moving again. But right now nothing is out there.
