Thank you thats what I figured. Pioneer wants $250, they said the lazer is off.

I have an Avic D3 and the CD player will only play for 1-2 songs and a read error appears. The unit plays DVD movies with no problem and the nav works also. Everything else worked great. Is it worth fixing and trying to sell it or just sell it as? How much can I get for it as is? I Already replaced the unit so the wife can play her cd`s. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

I had this happen to me, try dragging the map back to your location and see if that works.

Hows the disc look? I had mine freeze once in a location in upstate N.Y. I just dragged the screen back to the location I was at and it worked again and never had a problem.

This just happen to mine also but it plays dvd movies. CD player stopped about 6 months ago. Im ready to through the d3 out the window.

Im having the same problem. Did you ever figure it out?

Jazz Audio installed mine and did a great job with by-pass also $150.
