  1. I know, lol. I said in the last sentence of my post that there were some differences in the Dutch version that some might be interested in seeing. Maps, icons, etc. Thanks anyway though.
  2. Also, found the Dutch version of the quick start guide on the Pioneer Euro site. http://www.service.pioneer-eur.com/peeservice/RegistrInstrMan.nsf/(CountDownloadinInstructionManuals3)?openagent&ID=377AE3249272B673C125743A004048F8&Attachment=MAN-900700-QSG-DU.pdf It's a bit different showing a different icon set and map appearance (f700 perhaps) as well as some screenshots different from the English quick start guide.
  3. Same boat as you man, I've had my 5120 for like 3 weeks. Going on ebay soon.
  4. Awesome find. That album art view looks awesome. The maps look damn good as well. Hopefully the entire manual is not too far behind! Also, I noticed that for the destination on the GPS, there is a green call button on the bottom right hand corner. Finally, looks like we can directly dial up a POI after finding it!
  5. Just sold mine on ebay last month. I sold the D3, XM, BT and iPod cable for $600 shipped on a buy it now. Mind you, paypal takes about $50 of that so try to find someone local if possible. Now, I gotta put my new Kenwood DNX5120 (Had it 2 weeks now) up on ebay as well (Unless someone else is interested) so I can get the new F900BT come June.
  6. Oh, trust me I would LOVE to customize the interface. The more ability, the better. I just thought that Pioneer has done an excellent job and that I would be hard pressed to make something better. Though, the interface with my current Kenwood, I KNOW that I could make better looking menus, buttons, etc. From what I can see so far, there does not seem to be any real skinning ability with the new F series. I am sure that they would have beaten the drum about it a lot if the capability was there. At this point, I'll just be happy to see the clean, factory looking PIO interface again. Mind you, I
  7. Yes. There will also be a PC Program that will let you customize it further, save the profile to a SD Card, and load it onto the unit. Will it also be possible to customize the icons/fonts? They should allow at least a subset of the interface icons to be changed. Is this possible with the current units apart from color customization? Yes, I would also like to know more about the customizability program. Is it just for the POI or can you do custom icons, etc? Not 100% sure. I know you can customize the backgrounds and LED colors. Not sure if you can change the icons. I'm sure t
  8. Just the screen. The unit is still a standard sized double din.

  10. I'm pretty sure I remember them saying you could hook up a external mic. Thanks for the reply. Did the reps provide any details on the improved routing engine? I love Garmin, and it may push me to the Kenwood DNX series. From what I've read, the previous iteration of the Pioneer routing engine was terrible. Having both owned the D3 and now the DNX5120, I can say that it was not so much the routing engine in the D3 that was so bad for me, but my biggest gripe was finding POI. Between the vicinity search and the regular poi search, it was a total pain to find anything and the Garmin is a
  11. It supports an external mic, but also has one built in. Not sure about the jpeg support. In the press release it just talks about music and mp4 video off of the SD card. I would imagine there should be some kind of slide show function. My Kenwood DNX5120 has that function for all types of sources (DVD, CD, USB).
  12. You press the big silver button. Thanks for the reply! There's like no coverage on these new units with the exception of that halfassed engadget snippet the other day. So big thanks for filling all of our questions on this stuff. Can't wait to get the 900, looks so much nicer than my old D3 and even my new Kenwood DNX5120.
  13. For the voice control, do you just say anything you want at any given time or do you have to press a button before saying "Play album... " or "call home"
  14. WOW... Just wow. Looks like I'm going to have a DNX5120 for sale soon. Also, I hope they improved the POI searches. Hopefully now it will sort them by direction and distance, and find them more than 5mi out. Either way, that voice control looks sick.
  15. Recently sold my D3 and got the 5120 and could not be happier. The nav is worlds better, thats all I can even begin to say. Also, I no longer accidentally hit the eject button instead of "Menu" and have to spend 2 minutes for the Nav disk to reinitialize. And the iPod integration is just plain sick. Makes the D3 look about a decade out of date. The ability to touch any part of the artist list and you are there is great. It's actually a lot faster to navigate the iPod on the kenwood than it is on the actual ipod. Album art is a very nice touch too. I had the D3 for about 9 months and enjoy
  16. Good to hear. If you find you want 12v switched, just tap off the 12v cigarette lighter. Also, for illumination, I take it you tapped off the headlight switch? The illumination can also be tapped off of the cigarette lighter as it has a red light right around the base of it that goes on with the headlights/interior lights. As for not having speed pulse hooked up, hopefully that works out for you. Unless you were lucky enough to have the speed pulse behind the speedo cluster (No speed pulse wires for some 06s and all 07s). Post pics too!
  17. Yeah, your gonna need the euro antenna adapter. It's only like $10.
  18. All the wiring you will ever need is in the CARP adapter. The bypass is exactly the same as not using the adapter. The CARP has 12v switched, constant, VSS wire, illumination, etc. No splicing of factory wiring. I put it in myself, it was easy enough. Depends on how comfortable you are with opening your dash and installing car stereos. The AVIC is not much different than a regular cd player. It's just bigger and there's a few more wires in the harness.
  19. Yeah, I was pissed too. The tags don't update at all. Stay away from the new gen of iPods.
  20. It went perfectly. The UK adapter and the Scosche dash kit combo are awesome. Check my thread here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8831&highlight=
  21. I have the CD-i200 cable. No go for video. Don't believe me, then see for yourself.
  22. The new gen iPods (nano video and classic) will NOT play video through the D3. I confirmed this with both of them. The dock connector is physically the same on both nanos. However, with the new iPods you also will experience your artist/info names not updating on the D3 as the songs change. Stay far far away from the new iPods if you wan't to use them with the D3.
  23. The titles DO NOT update like they should. Same thing happened with my friend's new nano in my car. I was finally becoming OK with the lack of video until a road trip I took yesterday. I nearly shot my fist through the screen in anger when I saw that the track titles were not changing. I just can't stand it when I spend my hard earned money on expensive things only to have them not work. As for component output, I'm all for HD, etc, but there is still no reason to straight out disable the video output the way it used to be just to please the damn copyright holders. It's like this: The people t
  24. I'm taking the ipod back tomorrow. I almost threw it out my window on a road trip today. The track titles/info do NOT update when the song changes. The new iPods are CRAP. I'm hoping to get an old 5.5G 80GB video. Other than that... F*CK APPLE. They changed the software on the iPods for NO REASON and all it did was create problems. EDIT: My friend just picked up a new Nano today when I went to the Apple store to exchange my classic for a regular 5G iPod Video 30GB. The nano will also NOT play video through it. ALSO, with both, the song titles will not update on the screen once one song has
  25. Yeah, that's all I'm doing with it, lol. There's no better way to access a full data base of music with the D3. I'm planning on getting a shuffle for the gym since the full size is a pain to work out with.
