1. Wow, that's WEAK! Can't believe that Pioneer thinks that's in any way "ok".
2. Ok, so I have figured out how to set my presets (press and hold) but how do I replace "Preset 1" with "Howard 100" or the like?
3. Yeah, I know, but this guy did my install "on the side" and agreed to do the bypass for me before hand. I even provided him the pic and description from the bypass thread on this forum . . . somehow he goofed it up, which isn't giving me a lot of confidence about the rest of his install -- don't get me wrong, I was there for 90% of it, and his interior tear down and speaker wiring (had him install six new speakers, two of which were in new/fabricated locations) and amp install skills were good based upon my un-trained eye, but I think this may have been the first time he installed a head uni
4. I've started to read the manual, but it's pretty big . . . no excuse, I know. Thanks for the tips, will try why stationary. Guess my installer messed up the bypass (I provided the info from this site, don't know why he didn't do it). Thanks again, david
5. Ok, had my Z120BT installed this past weekend and went into the settings page and of the 6-8 options available on the settings page 3/4 of them are greyed out (nothing happens when I touch them), only AV Audio and one other option are in full color (and work when I touch them). Why is this? Also, what menu is the time set in? And how do I turn off the "beep" (or at least adjust the volume lower) every time I hit any button or any on-screen icon? TIA, David
6. Thanks . . . funny how we (me, actually) make product capability assumptions based on competing products. I had TOTALLY missed the fact that this unit (based on your post) does not store ripped music to the HD. What in the world is this unit DOING with 30 GB of space for Nav only?
7. The only thing I cannot find at this point is a TV tuner that is compatible with the Strada (I actually haven't looked in detail at the Strada's specs to know whether or not it accepts a TV tuner input, to be honest).
8. Seem like fairly equivalent units . . . anyone have any thoughts?
9. Conspicuous by their absence (on Pioneer's authorized dealers list) are "car audio" and "navigation" -- I'm not sure that link would make me feel better. Actually am inclined to believe that 6ave.com is not an authorized dealer for car audio and navigation . . . . or am I missing something?

11. As a general rule . . . I'd prefer to let someone steal something rather than shoot them (even if it is "legal" to do so). To each their own.

Toyes!

Emay -- glad someone said it . . . . "professional" and "street racing" do not belong in the same sentence. In fact, they're mutually exclusive terms -- as are "responsible" and "160 mph" and "back open [public] roads". nexusgroove -- I'm all for modifying and personalizing your vehicle (cosmetic, acoustic, performance or otherwise) and some of the stuff you're talking about doing with your Z1 does sound really interesting . . . but it sounds like you're still living the 18-22 year old lifestyle. To each their own, it's just that 160 mph on a public road (no matter how deserted they are
13. even the "good" review says "nice first attempt . . . "
14. buy.com http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?s ... c=111&sp=1 you must add to your cart to see price. amazon.com also has it at the same price.
15. based on researching reviews, the garmin nuvi 360 seems to be top notch right now. Approximately $699 -- but it's just coming out right now, that price will drop over time (or additional retailers willing to drop the price will begin carrying it). I know your budget is $600 -- but an extra $99 for a unit that seems to have it all (not just in terms of "specs" but in terms of usability) doesn't seem like too much of a stretch, YMMV.
16. I have no idea what the MSRP is for the Nuvi 360, but I do know that I can buy one from either Buy.com or Amazon.com for about $699 versus an Avic-S1 from a similarly reputable online retailer (i.e. Abt, Crutchfield, or J&R) for $599. So $100 difference doesn't really deter me, no. Most good in-dash navigation solutions (i.e. the Pioneer Avic-Z1) go for $1,500 minimum, and then the portable, transfer it between cars, take it with you to Europe on vacation aspect is lost. Now, if I wanted to go "bargain basement" and select a less than known quantity retailer, I could pick up the Avic-S1
17. No, didn't read the review at the12volt.com -- the subject line of my post says the review was by www.gizmodo.com . There's a video that goes with it, very disappointing.
18. Very disappointing review. Takes the S1 off my list. Garmin Nuvi 360, here I come. Oh well. :(
19. Deal over. 1st 10% discount no longer in effect. Oh well . . .
20. Ok, the Z1 is currently $2,049 with free installation. If you go to [url=http://www.circuitcity.com">www.circuitcity.com via
21. Looking at buying a Z1 from 6ave.com and having it installed locally (I live part time in both cities). Also, what seems to be the going rate for an install? $300-$400?
22. skicrave -- would agree with you, not getting everything in one shipment seems a little . . . . petty. On the other hand, if they lied to him and told him they had everything in stock and that it would all ship out at the same time, well that's a little different issue. Honesty wouldn't have cost 6ave.com a single margin point. While it's quite possible that their inventory managment system is poor . . . I don't see how that is / should be DataAve's problem. DataAve -- while this approach isn't easy, and will probably take more time than just waiting for the remaining parts to show up,
23. Cool -- thanks for the tip on 6ave. Any pics of the install in your P5?
24. hyperboarder -- thanks for the info . . . wierd on the illumination wire, I can't imagine the logic behind that?? So, did you purchase the Z1 at Best Buy as well? Or purchase elsewhere and have them install?
25. hyperboarder -- ok, so did you buy your Z1 at BestBuy or did you just pay to have them install it? If so, what did it cost to have them do the install? Also, what part of the US are you located (so I can get a feel for whether or not the install price you paid will be similar to here in Ohio). Thanks!
