g35_dude
I wonder if anyone has thought about the possiblity of copying the map data(on the DVD) to an IPOD. Only problem is that it would require a software hack of some kind to make the HU read from the IPOD instead of looking on the DVD drive. I guess I could have bought the Z series, but I already had an IPOD so figured it wasn't worth the extra $700.

HiFiSi
The only source theD3 can use for nav data is the onboard DVD drive.
g35_dude
Pioneer could easily provide a software upgrade to do this. If they did, their would be no compelling reason to buy the Z2 anymore. They are not going to do anything to hurt their Z2 sales. Anybody know which SDK Pioneer uses? Is it Windows CE?
