Adennick
I installed one of those $40 eBay lipstick cameras on my truck. I have a Z2. My problem is that the camera will not show any picture on the rear-camer input (brown RCA plug on radio harness). It just shows a black screen. Occasionally, it will flicker a few lines, but no picture. It shows a perfect picture when plugged into the AUX input.
bobmun
a few of us have had bad reverse camera inputs and had to send them back for service.
ShakAttack15
i didn't know there was a common problem. I've had problems with my camera output looking much crappier than when i first got it. it's one of those license plate cams, so i don't know if its the unit or the cam. Adennick
Could this just be the harness? Or were your problems internal? How do I get it fixed?
bobmun
the problem was internal send it back for repair
inferno999
Isn't there an option to change the polarity of the camera? I think it's on the screen where you tell it whether or not you want the back-up cam ports active. Just a thought.
davemonkee
we had that problem with two units (Z2's), but then finally realized it couldn't be two bad units!! long story short........... i found the problem to be with the harness. check the wiring at the white plug that has the brown rca (camera input) the ground (shield) pin wasn't in all the way. hope this helps.... barry_irving@comcast.net
IS THERE A WAY TO ADJUST THE LIGHTING ON THE REAR VIEW CAMERA. IT IS A LITTLE DARK. I HAVE A z3 UNIT.
bigblewwho
I am having issues with the rear view as well. I have it also signal split to a rear view mirror and the image is perfect on there. I've switched out cables, check this and that, thinking it is still the harness from the unit itself. Any other suggestions besides sending it back for service? barry_irving@comcast.net
Thanks for the response on the camera. The dealers states that this the best this camera can do. If we want a better lighting we would have to buy a more expenssive camera.
22pathfinder
mine flickers a few lines every once in a while but mostly a blank screen with the words "image may be reversed"across the top.when you all say send it back for service, are you sending it back to pioneer?how long does it take to get it back? barry_irving@comcast.net
I took the car back to Hi-Fi for other problems and they also adjusted the camera. It now works very well.
oldpapa49
I have no idea unless it was very hot that day (has been for a few weeks near 100 outside) It has worked for a few days now with no problems.. Do the Z series have issues with heat (Z2 is my unit) Old
