JFree
I search for a while and didnt find an answer to a probelm I am having with the different Sound Stages. I have noticed that when I activate this feature, lets say Studio, it seems that the unit cranks the gains up or something. Dont get me wrong it sounds great, but when the volume is past a certain point and I skip or pause a song I can hear the white noise in the background. I know of the Ipod fix and all that, does anyone have a fix or reccomendation for this problem? Thx in advance.
hottwhyrd
i leave all those off. when you activate teh "sound stage" it turns off your loudness and highpass filter because it automatically sets them for you... ive never gotten a system to sound good with sound stage on. leave it off
JFree
I actually had it sounding good, but that white noise is pissing me off when I use it. I set mine up without it as well, but Im just wondering what is causing that noise. Thx for the Reply, anyone else have this problem?
hottwhyrd
i forgot to ask do you have amps? factory or aftermarket?
JFree
Yeah I have aftermarket amps running my setup, JL slash series 4 channel 300/4. I remember someone saying that you can not bypass or turn off the internal amp on the head unit, could this be causing the problem?
HiFiSi
If you're only using the RCA outputs, it won't matter a bit. Because the internal amp wouldn't be connected to anything. Mine does the same thing when the soundstage crap is turned on. It's a pretty crappy feature, honestly. You can get the same effect by tweaking the custom EQ settings. And you won't have all the hissing noise. My solution? Just don't use it.
