dadofseven
I have a Nissan Titan LE crew cab. I had a N2 professionally installed that was stolen. They only got the head unit and wiring harnesses. insurance replaced it with the N4. I replaced the head unit and the Nav unit under the seat. All the wiring seems to be interchangeable and compatable... Question is, what is the pink wires' destination under the dash? I cannot find where it even was before... It says in the book, very vaguely, it is a speed sensor and the nav won't operate properly without it, and, oh, it's sold separately... any help out there?
cntrylvr79
It's the vss lead. What year titan is the it. It's not absolutely needed just makes gps a bit more accurate.
dadofseven
thanks for the reply Batman, It is a 2004 Titan. What are the repercussions of not hooking it up? And two, if I need to hook it up, can you tell me where it goes?
cntrylvr79
No problem. If you want to connect it. The vss in your truck is white/red at the gauge cluster harness.
dadofseven
Thanks, I'll go look for the wire... I don't recall that particular wire in the two harnesses I bought though. Guage cluster Harness though, not to insult your intellegence on the subject, what is that?
cntrylvr79
THat's the harness that plugs into the instrument cluster. So you'll have to remove the gauge cluster.
dadofseven
wow, probably should leave well enough alone... last question, If I do not hook it up, the only thin affected is the arrival time and the speed, right? Nav will still operate properly, cd, dvd...etc.
whtcrxghst
Your location on the map may be off a little bit, especially in areas with no sat reception
dadofseven
any advise on how to find that red/white wire in that cluster Batman spoke of?
osephj20
remove your gauge cluster (mph/rpm/fuel/EVERYTHING your looking at) and in the harness there will be red/white wire. probably a couple of screws and some clips holding it in.
dadofseven
that's what I needed to know....Thanks! someone else put it very well..."explain it to me like I'm 8". Thanks for your time. You guys, and gals have a good one...
cntrylvr79
And it's white/red not red/white...
Echoplex
I had my N4 installed and they did not connect the pink wire. I own a 2002 GMC Yukon Denali would someone be able to tell me where I can find the speed sense wire on my truck. Also if I connect the pink wire will that affect the bypass that was done? dadofseven
Batman, you out there? I hooked everything up as specified in the manuals and exactly like the previous N2 was installed. Put in the wire in the "magic hole". And the nav works fine, haven't checked the DVD part yet. There is no sound coming out...No radio or Navigation. any thoughts?
