louietsang Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 i just got the avic d3 in the mail today all for 530 shipped, very happy! and i read like for 1 week on how to do the bypass, i got the mute wire onto the top slot to bypass no problem. i'm pretty good at installing hardware things etc. before i install this 2moro. but instructions all say to ground the mute wire. which im not 100% sure how. if anyone can explain step by step how to ground the mute wire, it be very helpful. thanks again. this forum has been very helpful in makin my decision to purchase this system a breeze. knight20 Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 I'm not sure what you mean by "good at installing hardware things" if you don't know how to ground something, but basically, you just have to connect the mute wire to a part of the car's metal chassis, or you can just tap into the ground from the D3's wire harness. Derf Posted March 1, 2008 Report Share Posted March 1, 2008 Stop messing with the guy. Grounding it means you need to connect the relocated mute wire and P brake wire to a 6 inch piece of steel. Drill a hole in the floor and let the steel touch the ground. The steel usually will last 4-6 months depending on road surface. Good Luck! Quote Link to post Share on other sites
