Searching by address Question?

So when you try to select your destination by plugging in an address I start plugging in the address and it does this auto address thing where it trys to fill in what it thinks i'm going to type and 9 times out of 10 it wont find the street in the same state as me or anywhere for that matter? or it will fill in before i'm finished and i can't write the correct street. is there a way to turn that thing off so i can just manually plug everything in?

Nope. If it plugs in a street before you finish, it was the only possibility that it knew of. FWIW, I've never had it NOT know a street I needed.

I've had it happen to me before. D3 wouldn't let me put in the full name of the street. Then, I looked it up on mapquest, found out I had the name wrong.

Ya, ive never had it NOT guess the street name correctly.

If you're in a relatively new area, that could be the problem.... or maybe youre using the wrong disc???

Do you have it set to look in the correct zone of the country?

Try entering in the city before entering in the street name.

I think i might have over looked the zone detail. Dang it now i feel like an idiot. How do you correct the zones?

Press POI search or Vicinity Search. You will see a little icon that looks like a map of the US. Touch that and you can select whatever region you're in

Check the spelling on the street you want. Last week I needed to so a service call at a customer's house on callaway st, but I kept typing in calloway (the normal spelling). It's a long shot, but it may help.
