dhouse
Hello I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD w/ factory XM and steering wheel controls. After installation of the Avic D2, the factory steering wheel controls no longer worked. Is there a modification that I need to make to get these to work again? Also, there was not a connection for my factory XM harness. Is there a conversion plug available for this as well? I also did not find an orange wire on my harness for the illumination wire. I was able to hook up the dimmer wire. Will this be a problem without the orange wire hooked up? Thanks, Dustin.
whtcrxghst
You will have to buy an adaptor for the steering wheel controls to work. You will also have to buy the Pioneer XM tuner for the XM to work, the model is GEXP920XM (non-traffic) or GEXP10XMT (NavTraffic model)
dhouse
Thank you, what about the orange wire?
BuffaloSS
From what I've come across about the 2500 and other GM/GMC trucks is that you need to do what you've done for the illumination. Is it working? If yes, leave well-enough alone
dhouse
It is working. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't loose anything later on down the road when I needed. Thanks, Dustin.
