illumination and bypass

Recommended Posts

I have a Avic Z1 that i bought as refurbished. I have done the two wire bypass, but the software show that it is the old version, so i tried downloading the updated disc from Pioneer, and nothing happens when i put it in the head unit, so i am downloading the bluetooth update off your website now, and will try that. Next, my illumination is not working. I have a 2007 Chevy silverado, and bought the 130 dollar wiring harness to keep all my onstar, and chimes, and everything works except the illumination. So i cannot try the flash the headlight trick. I called a radio shop around here, and he said that since some vehicles actually send a current through the illumination wire, it may not ever work, and i should not hook it up, because it may mees up the unit. Help this thing is blinding me at night.

You need to see if yo have the old version software or not, if your illumination works, when you fisrt start the vehicle falsh the lights three times while the head unit is starting up, and this would bypass it, if this does not work you probably have the new software and need to do a two wire bypass, which you can find the directions on this site by searching two wire bypass. good luck

Here is what I did and it worked the first time. Download Magic ISO...its free. Download the bluetooth update and save it to your desktop, it should be in an ISO format. When it is done and on your desktop, double click on it and it should automatically open magic iso and ask you what speed you want to burn it at. Burn it on a CDR, not a DVD.

Turn on your deck, press map so you are looking at the map. Insert your CDR, and follow the prompts.

when i open the bluetooth update disc, it uses roxio automatically, but the one from Pioneer, i am downloading and just copying it to the disc.
