jmc9981
I Just had my Avic-D3 installed in my 06 coupe and been noticing a pop sound everytime i turn off the vehicle. Called my installer and he claims that its normal because of a module that he had to install to hear all of the factory tones over the car speakers. Anyone else have this problem? HiFiSi
I recall people having that problem in other cars with a factory amp. It required wiring in a resistor on the amp turn on lead from the head unit because it's voltage was too high for the factory amplifier. IIRC it was a 3K or 4K ohm resistor. You can get one at Radio Shack for a couple of bucks.

HiFiSi
Oh, that's right. It was Ford/Lincoln, not GM. My bad.
jmc9981
I didnt do the install my self , i had a stereo shop do it. I just wanted to find out the info so i can pass it on to my installer. Is there more than one module for my vehicle? If i added the resistor as mentioned above would that do the trick? Not sure if it matters but mine is also the non bose model.
LostAngel
did you find a fix to this? I will be installing mine in a month or so n my 2008 vette....
installermarc
If you retained the factory amp (it sounds like you ded) then you need two ground loop isolators. Install them in between the RCA outputs of the D3 and the harness you used.
