Flashing Airbag light

Hi everyone. Just finished installing my AVIC D3. Thanks for all the help in this forum. I now have one problem. The airbag light in the instrument cluster is flashing. I have a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL sedan. Did I connect something wrong? Can anyone help with this. Thanks

You most likely forgot to reconnect the "passenger airbag" light that is located in the bezel. It happens all the time. Pull the bezel off and check that first. If that's not it, off to the dealer you go.

this is the code for the frontier, may work for you, i'm not sure.

 

If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Here is how to reset it:

 

1. Turn the key from off to on.

 

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

 

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

 

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

 

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

 

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

 

If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again.

I've read the procedure for the Altima before and that sounds like that's it. If you turn on the car while you have the air bag light unplugged from the AC vents, you will get this airbag light error.

The procedure posted above works for pretty much every nissan from 02 to current.

A few points here...

 

1) The SEARCH function works... That's how I found this!

2) This procedure works... ( 07 Frontier )

3) If you power on the vehicle at anytime without the Passenger airbag light connected you will get the flashing light.

I have a 08 Nissan Titan and the procedure listed above is correct. I've had to do it many times.
