Power Harness woes

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 2007 Toyota Camry and am currently trying to install my D2, I started off by splicing and connecting the black to black, red to red, and yellow to yellow to make sure I was at least getting power. No power.

If anyone has any knowledge on the proper wiring sequences please let me know. Thanks

Did you buy a wiring harness adapter? It makes things SO much easier. And it lets you leave the car's radio harness in there in case you ever need to put the factory radio back in. And it's color coded. You just hook all the wires together, then plug it in. Just about any place that sells car stereo stuff will sell them.

They look like that:

You just attach/splice the corresponding wires from the D1 and it plugs directly into the car's radio harness.

And in case you need it, here's the one for if you have the JBL system in there...

Thanks, Im gonna go hunting for a local seller who might have the above one, as mine isnt the JBL system.

In order to test the system, I can cut the red and yellow wires apart from each other and plug them into a socket and ground the black wires, am I right?
