GEX-P10XMT with Z1 connection question

Recommended Posts

I can't figure this one out, but what cables do I need to connect the P10 (Nav Traffic XM unit) to my Z1?

I saw one diagram that said just the antenna and IPBus/power harness. Then I see there is a data cable included as well?

If anyone has a Z series with this Nav Traffic unit, let me know what I need.

Thanks,

Harness, Data Cable, P-bus Cable, and Antenna

There is no need for the power cable as long as Data Cable and IP-Bus Cable are connected to the Z1/2/3.

So will be neccessary to have connected XM Antenna, Data Cable(out) and IP-Bus (out) Cable.

Thats incorrect. You still need power and ground hooked up

This is a copy and paste text from

Wiring Note

Power Wiring: If the unit is connected with an IP-Bus cable, it is not necessary to connect the red (+12 volts switched) power lead. The receiver may not work properly if the IP-Bus cable and the red power lead are used together. The Installation Manual incorrectly states that both leads should be connected. A manual correction sheet is provided

Looks like the power does not have to be connected when IP-Bus is being connected.

Did anybody installed the unit just with IP-Bus cable and no power cable connected?

Thanks.
