Can't get the firmware update disc to work.

I have a brand new z-2 and I'm trying to do the fimware upat. I am writing the files to a CD-R using Roxio at 8x recording speed. Roxio is programmed at Mode-1 and Disc-at-once.

 

I insert the disc in the unit and the unit says "CD Inserted". After five minutes, nothing happens. Anybody know what I'm dong wrong?[/b]

It should be one DAT file and one folder that you are burning. Is that correct?

I've done everything by the book. I've left it in there for a half hour, but it just says "CD-ROM Inserted".

 

I'm considering calling Pioneer and having them send me a free copy.

Once it says "CD Inserted", did you try holding in the Map button? I've heard of some people having luck with that.

Did the whole "hold the map button down" to no avail. Anyone else use the Roxio program? What settings did you use?

I'm having trouble with this update as well. I inserted the disc and the update worked, BUT it froze at about 80% and automatically restarted. Everytime I start the car, it says it's restarting the update and then is says update failed. This message goes on and on and never stops.

 

Does anyone know what I can do?

I am having the same problem. Please help, right now I have a very expensive paper weight.

Try using a different burning program...I think I tried 3 before I found one that worked for me, and Roxio was one of the first two.
